There hasn't been a Pope Thomas yet, has there? Tbh I see Bp Barron as a Pope Dominic for his talents in preaching, plus there could be some confusion with Thomas - too many might wonder if it was after Aquinas or the doubting Apostle? On the latter a prospective Pontiff may not wish to be thought of as "The Doubting Pope"
