I first read Forever War in the 80s or 90s. And then a few years later I listened to audio book of it. I didn't know it had been updated with new material since I first read it and I kept getting confused because I remembered so much of the book and it was very familiar and then I reach these parts I had absolutely no memory of.
Few people read or talked about science fiction in China until The Three-body Problem written by Liu Cixin won the Hugo Award in 2015 and then suddenly all the online bookshops started to import globally-famous sci-fi . Back then I was a poor college student who couldn't afford imported books. However, one day in 2021 I saw this omnibus editon of The Forever War which was priced at 75 RMB(about $10) and I thought"Wow, 10 dollars for 700 pages, that's quite cheap". After three years , I have read The Forever War and The Forever Peace for at least three times and I own two omnibus edition, one SF masterworks edition, one SF masterworks new edition(the new yellow cover)and one Ace edition.
I should show the interiors of all of these books, shouldn't I! Darn it. I think the font size was pretty standard for a trade size paperback, but I will try to remember to check it when I get home.
I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the book and the contexts and influences. I think Forever Peace is not as timeless as Forever War, but I enjoyed the book. I reread The Forever War recently and it blew me away even more than when I first read it so I made a review too: ua-cam.com/video/ms79givTPRI/v-deo.htmlsi=pNPOgFjYeCCYRJHA
I've read all these but Free and Peace have merged together in my mind and I can't recall what is in one and the other. But the one where they get back to Earth, the final in the "trilogy" is somewhat bizarre and a real jump out of left field. Probably the weakest of the three by a fair way.

Nice!
Does it have a decent font size?

Nice, and thanks! I'll definitely check it out.

I think that's probably the consensus, but I'd have to re-read them to more intelligently comment on that.
