- Halocaridina rubra in anchialine pools along with Opae huna, Metabetaeus lohena, crabs etc in natural habitat
Hard to tell, several Metabetaeus lohena at 6:36 mark, 12:24 mark, 13:13 mark
Crab also at 10:48 mark
Salinity was around 1.016 in one pool and 1.018 in another. The temp of water was around 85 F on this April month.
It feels soo odd to see these guys out in the wild. Not in a tank somewhere in the world. Great vid :D

I’ll be heading to the Big Island next month, where would I be able to view these Opae Ula? I have some idea in mind as I have been there before, just never noticed them or was looking for them.

1.016 in one pool and 1.018 in another. I know regular seaweed are in the pools

Do you know the average salinity (Sg) of most pools?
No. Only that I measured 1.016 and 1.018 on that particular day. There are around 650 of them on the big island!

One I tested was 1.018 and another was 1.016
