- Southern People have a hollar full terminology most of the rest of the world is oblivious to. This episode we got our TRYers drunk and asked them to guess some viewer submitted “Roadman Slang” terms from the streets of London. Things didn't go well but went better than expected.

what you guys should do is cockney rhyming slang, to give some context, a cockney is from the east end of London, (you will have heard the accent in movies) you were cockney if you lived withing the sound of the Bow Bells from the church, the slang was thought to have been made up, from the criminals, a code so to speak, so the police did not know what they were talking about, , i will give a coupl of examples, not to many, so as not to spoiler it, incase you try it,
plates of meat=feet
apples and pears=stairs
have a butchers= to have a look
we are a small island, which fits in most US states, there 11 states that are bigger than the UK, but we have some many accents, slang that you can drive 10 minutes and hear a different accent and slang, i live in the north east of england, here is a bit of our slang
gegs=eye glasses
kegs=trousers
kets=sweets (candy)
tab=cigarette
just to name a few, every region will have its own accent and slang for the same stuff. also each region, with there accent has there own name and identity for that region in the name of slang, im from the north east englang, here is the slang for the different regions for the cities in this region
Newcastle = geordies
sunderland = mackems (ship builders, they made them and they took them away)
hartlepool = monkey hangers (during the days of ships and the british empire, a ship came back with a monkey on board, they thought it was spy and hung it)
middlesboro = smoggies (it was to do with steel works and factories producing lots of smoke, smog from the chimneys)
these places are around 30 niles radius, there are many other smaller places that have names because of the past, industry, or location

I think they should have prefaced to the guests, that Roadman is heavily influenced by Caribbean / African patois. "Yardie" was a slang term for a Roadman way back in the 1970's.
Need to update my comment as I've watched all of it most of these are not really British they are new and of the Jamaican/ African people that are now here

I'm a UK resident and I have never heard any of these words being used.

The 1st one is quite new and comes from the young black comuntinty strangely we now how young white fellas walking around trying to sound black but when they are at home they talk normal 😂😅 quite sad really
In my 66 years in england all i know is that these words are not in our dictionary. Probably from people in other countries.

This is the slang of 12 year olds, real London slang is when you borrow a pony or monkey, or go for a ruby
That’s the slang of 80 year olds nowadays it’s a bit different now but some old slang is still valid
His is young black street talk not English
I'm 40 and white and I understand it just fine.
And they're young, black, English people. So still English anyway.
