Yes, he is great, but not the full reason. He had to go back to Japan to attempt to sell his translator until finally meeting Sharp's Tadashi Sasaki. They then became lifelong friends and Sasaki remained involved in Masa's Softbank founding, especially with the example of providing a loan to Masa including Sasaki's retirement money and house as collateral. Actually many things he said was just bullshiting for simplicity (invent a translator for 5 mins a day? Please.). Don't get me wrong, I respect him and think he is a hardworking business and technical genius, but please don't take what he said too seriously. It is the culture difference for sure. Even Indians are more grounded businessmen. Americans are brought up into self centered show off culture and materialism. Just look around you and travel the world you will see.

I simply adore Japan as a country, as a culture and the values for which it stands and of course its virtuous citizens! Japans inhabitants are among if not the most mannered people in the world. Not only that, but they’re aware of this and pride themselves cuz of it, and I absolutely applaud them all for backing it up as well! They are very polite, respectful and they do not accept bribes or tips in restaurants or lounges lol!! Tipping over there is considered an act of pity or dishonor so I’ve heard. I’ve also encountered a Japanese family back home in the states where I’m from, this being NYC baby, and they behave the same exact way here. It’s unbelievable!! @@yutanikenji2662 the koreans in korea during the japanese invasion WERE culturally forced to adopt japanese names, cut their hair, only speak japanese, etc. please learn more history before spreading false rumor. forcing to adopt japanese name is called 창씨개명 (soshi kaimei), which was issued in 1939. it was technically pressuring them to adopt japanese name because out of many colonized countries, the rate of japanese name adoption was the lowest in korea (only 48 requests on the very first day soshi kaimei was issued, and less than 8% of koreans during the first three months). so japanese governments changed the laws to give many social disadvantage to those who did not adopt the last names. this gave most koreans no choice but to adopt. so technically, like you said is not physically forcing, but many people still view it as forcing because it left many people no choice

Son's parents moved to Japan ilegally. Almost all ancestors of Korean residents in Japan moved to Japan illeagally during the Japanese era since the whole of Korea was a slum when Korea was independent. Korea had been the poorest and dirtiest and the most corrupt nation in Asia. This was Japan which developped Korea. During the Korean War which started in 1950, the South Korean Military massacred residents on Jeju island so many Koreans moved to Japan. They are also ancestors of Korean residents in Japan.
