@Nas Pi Yeah right! That's exactly the reason just the Indian medical tourism industry is anywhere between 5 and 6 billion! And that only 44,500 people have died of Covid 19 as of writing.
Best sales pitch ever in a Shark Tank. Usually the entrepreneurs are trying to "convince" the investors. These guys were smart. They had 1 attitude from the beginning - 'We bring you value, you bring us value. Let's do this !!'
Couldn't they lower the barrier of entry for the hospitals by providing this as a "pay per patient" subscription model paid by the hospitals. That way it is still free for the patients, but the costs are spread out for the hospitals and it also scales up and down with the size of the institution making it affordable for small and large hospitals alike?
If you truly, truly, truly believe in your IDEA so much.. why don't you go and make it HAPPEN yourself? With respect to praxis, I can guarantee you there will be hundreds of problems with your model as well.
I think you're underestimating the difficulty of writing such an app. Giving it the level of required polish is not so easy. Handling medical data properly is its own task. You also need to implement the community features, (ideally) integrate with existing medical software, and providing expertly curated content. Whether the app is worth $5M I don't know. But I don't think it's nearly as simple as it looks.
My big concerns with any innovation in this space are that ultimately, the $100,000 license fee will ultimately make it's way into the hospital bill of the patient, and there's a lot wrong with the kind of system that allows that to happen
I would use the app and all information to see what all the people with the same type of cancer do that's similar and then do clinical studies to see if it does create those cancer cells
I mean this is cancer specific so you can talk to specialists in that field and other patients going through the same thing you are throughout the whole app. Cancer is continuous and effects millions of people. This would also work well with people who have diabetes but to split the focus of the app does a disservice to people who need specific care. So yes an app where you can text your doctor is a cool idea, this is cancer focused
