Accidental Babies has to be one of the most gut wrenching songs ever written, and this version with the additional arrangement at the end is just sublime.
Thanks for sharing this, very nice. Oh while doing some housework I was listening to this then stopped to watch for a bit. He’s done many versions of Rootless Tree where he’s left FU out. I finally noticed that there’s a reminder note, no F on the piano. Too funny. He’s so respectful.
I love Damien and Lisa when they perform together. However, I did not think that this was their best performance of these particular songs. You can tell that they are holding back a little. I really love the performances where they completely let loose. Check out Damien's version of 9 Crimes Live from the Basement and you'll see the difference that I'm talking about- you can really feel the raw emotions in that version.
Hey , I know I'm a little late in replying but what you're saying maybe true but being a musician myself i can tell you that all the versions shouldn't be the same and they shouldn't be sharing the same energy. That's the reason we listen to the same song in so many different settings. What gives the song it's feel is the things that the artist is feeling that day and all the thoughts that are on his mind while playing his or her music. All these different versions have their own place , there is no need to compare.Just My Opinion.
Poetry is precious and should never be messed with for the sake of broadcasting restrictions! If I am allowed to write the words 'Fuck-You' then why is Damien not allowed to sing it?
damien doesn't make the impression that he would come back to play again... i don't think he liked the interuption at the very end of this beautiful, heartfelt version of accidental babys.
This is a live version but is only Damien on the Piano. The audience laughs at 'accidental babies' though but it's still excellent: /watch?v=ci1TMpGXCcs
Sad campers, but great musicians. apparently their friendship had gone really stale by this point and soon after they parted ways. Love them both nonetheless.
FUCK YOU was the expression written to translate his feelings(when written) so to cut it out damages the experience of that song somewhat! Let me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Fuck Yooooooooou" ruined a beautiful rendition of Rootless Tree & if that wasn't the radio station's fault, the voice-over ruining the end of Accidental Baby appears to be.

It truly does not matter in what context Damien is performing…he is always absolutely perfect! My god…..this is stunning!
Damien Rice is great, and these performances confirm my opinion!
STUNNING MUSIC presented by delicate and sensitive artists.

9 Heavenly Crimes - so much talent gathered in 1 room
Yeah it's good to know such talented artist can still make a "false start" ^^
truly amazing ...
why am i only allowed to press Like once?!
Brividi
in the beginning of rootless tree, his voice reminded me of his song orchard
Is there any way to obtain this version of Accidental babies complete without the interviewers intromission at the end?

Probably more the fact it's a radio show and they often talk over live and recorded music to stop casual recording onto cassette etc.
Que bonita versión. Me parece que esta canción no tiene tiempo.
i love this: ,, even yourself my darling" at 18:16 :D
WHEEEERE IS DAMIEN RICE??? It's been 5 years of his last album!!!!!
i agree
liza iz da best
wtf so this is the studio version in piano of rootless tree?
Can someone please transcribe the broadcaster's last commentary?
This is a live version but is only Damien on the Piano. The audience laughs at 'accidental babies' though but it's still excellent: /watch?v=ci1TMpGXCcs

Did they perform this version of accidental babies in any other show?
Whoever thumbs down this. Meet me in the parking lot so I can punch you in the face.
It must have been a misake
That was aggressive!

strewth! that was such beautiful ending tune until the broadcaster ruined it!
3 Times Like :)
Linda melodia principalmente na voz de Lisa, desculpas Damien. rsrs
You should look up Damien Rice Rootless Tree and the rest of his solo stuff...
He's absolutely Amazing!!
Life isn't easy when two are divided and one has decided to bring down the curtain and one thing's for certain: there's nothing to keep them together.
The need togetherness
Sad campers, but great musicians. apparently their friendship had gone really stale by this point and soon after they parted ways. Love them both nonetheless.
"Rootless tree" without "F*ck youuuu" feels like a lost :(
#youtube my like should count as a subscription

This has the best version of rootless tree, but sadly damien doesn't say the Fuck you properly
or at 18:15 ^^
best performance of 9 crimes ever - better than the recording!
shame they had to tone down rootless tree........why bother .....

Nic Harcourt can do no wrong
