So many of us were excited when teasers for this song came out and they said it was sampling La Campanella, and I'm glad it ties the whole track tgt and makes it what it is - bc sometimes the samplings I hear are tacked on, sometimes a working part of a song, sometimes not. Shut Down is the official title track of their latest album Born Pink; prior to that they had a pre released single called Pink Venom. i think it's best to react chronological then when you get to this song you'll get context more meaning of each the song that teddy wrote. it's like a story with each of the songs, its like a continuation. you can see how the girls evolve in the last 7 years and with the song choices that they choose. sometimes the lyrics has 2-3 meanings that they are trying to say. if you like detail on the MV look really close it also tells a story of its own too.

So many of us were excited when teasers for this song came out and they said it was sampling La Campanella, and I'm glad it ties the whole track tgt and makes it what it is - bc sometimes the samplings I hear are tacked on, sometimes a working part of a song, sometimes not.
Shut Down is the official title track of their latest album Born Pink; prior to that they had a pre released single called Pink Venom. There's a bit of a banterish competition among the fandom as to which one is better. Would be interested to know what you think about Pink Venom :) Thanks for the reaction!

When you've watched more of their M/Vs, you REALLY need to come back to this, if you like details - this entire M/V is made up of references to their previous M/Vs, people they've worked with (the posters), self references, in jokes, etc. Estimates for this M/V, from some with experience in productions, is around US$5M, partly because of all the re-creations that had to be done.
The whole thing is a "Shutdown" of those who think they're 'past it' and no longer THE best, with the slamming doors meaning that's what they've already done! The lift up to the next level, with all the prestine walls and storage doors, a warning that there is a lot more still to come from them and they' re a long way from being finished.

They have the "behind the scenes" videos for each song you can check that out if you want.I see you got many many song recommendations so I won't do the same but I'd love to recommend you their live performance of "sure thing cover", original is by Miguel, i hope you check that out so that you can get the idea 'how great they are live' for yourself, otherwise you can get the idea from the fact that they were invited to "headline" Coachella, BST Hyde park this year.

i think it's best to react chronological then when you get to this song you'll get context more meaning of each the song that teddy wrote. it's like a story with each of the songs, its like a continuation. you can see how the girls evolve in the last 7 years and with the song choices that they choose. sometimes the lyrics has 2-3 meanings that they are trying to say. if you like detail on the MV look really close it also tells a story of its own too.
