I'm trying not to cry while watching this, Lauren. We as human beings have so many other voices installed in us that tell us we need to conform, we should not stick out, we should not be this, that, the other thing... And not in dating only, but at work, at home, anywhere! I'm 43 and am still shaking those old patterns off. Thank you for making this video.
Your relationship advice is spot on Lauren! As a 40 year old woman who never had any self-confidence or felt good enough unless I was loved by a man … and ended up having 2 disappointing (to put it mildly) marriages that made me feel like crap, I could have used this advice 20 years ago! 😅 Although I actually really need to hear it right now too! ❤ You are incredibly wise and this video should be “prescribed viewing” for all women young and old!

I’ve dealt with the shattering of all my confidence from putting too much of my worth into someone to a point where my social timing has been off for months, I have gone from being extremely extroverted to experiencing social anxiety around friends and the other day driving down the highway, I started convincing myself I was incapable of getting to my destination without needing to pull over and let someone else drive- and I fly planes! And I’ve done gigs for years! Speaking to people can’t suddenly make me so nervous when I’ve always loved it! This video makes me feel sooo comforted and related to. You are incredibly emotionally mature and it is so helpful to connect how perhaps this is a larger issue and that a LOT of women deal with this because its roots are structural. Gonna go watch the Barbie movie now💕

Wow what a subject! I am keeping this video because it describes my exact life. I was with a man for 20 years who was toxic and ground me and my self confidence and self esteem to the ground. When I finally left it took 5 years to start dating. Each and every relationship failed. The last one lasted 8 years and that was the one that changed me forever. I went to a dark place, very dark for many years. Fast forward to now I have been diagnosed with CPTSD. I have great support, great doctor, a great psychologist. I have been alone for many years and I have learnt to love my own company. In my case, I find it's better to be alone and happy rather than miserable in a toxic relationship. It is what it is, and if I never find someone again, I'm at peace with that. Good video Lauren!

I loved to hear this... You've made a huge impact on me and my mental health when it comes to break ups. In one of your older videos when you just met Reece I think, or before that, you said something along the lines of "You're always going to find someone, even when it feels like you won't.", and it stuck with me so much that I was able to make some hard decisions having that reassurance in the back of my mind. It helped me break out of toxic relationships and find my feet afterwards having faith there's something better to come. Thanks for that

There is a reason for gender roles. Women are not just being raised to be mothers, biologically it's in their nature to be mothers. That's why women are more emotional, sensitive and nurturing. These are not bad but very valuable hings. And I don't think we have to pretend to be men or some "bossbitch".
