I like when you go over the pool equipment that really works well, I am always listening for details about that, thanks for covering what the colors on the chem strip means that’s helpful as well.
I was tearin my hear out the last 2 weeks. Pool was going green within 2-3 days, and just eating through chlorine. The chloring thing was starting since we entered summer but had just gotten progressively worse to this point. Even this weekend, had 2 thunderstorms to today and pool green again with a thin dust at the bottom of the pool. All the chems checked out with exception of chlorine which as I mentioned just keeps depleting even though there's not a huge amount of use. 2 months ago as well as last month I shocked then flocced the pool and water went back to crytal clear blue, but thought it was odd to have to shock the pool so regularly. Finally figured out it was my filter (using a gravel filter). I didnt expect this becuase I replaced the filter media 7 months ago (pool wasnt used at all during winter and most of spring), but sure enough when I did a quick inspection my filter media was thrashed. I always vacuum to waste, so not sure why the media was thrashed so soon, but yeah, just glad I figured it out. Now have project for the weekend.

Keep those filters clean and you will be good to go
TURTLE BAY. LOL. Love it.
I call it Turtle Bay because there are tiles that look like turtles on the floor of the pool
