Hi there, love your videos I’m learning a heck of a lot about promoting my music from your videos. I am a bit confused about how all this playlist stuff works though. I already submitted my latest song to the editorial playlist but it seems like what you’re talking about here is separate from that? You can submit to other, I guess, independent playlists too? I’m not expecting you to answer me personally or anything just saying I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and I’m not quite clear on this. I’m a musician but I hate social media so I’m kinda learning how to do this from the ground floor so a lot of things that may seem obvious are totally new to me!

Yea absolutely! There are a ton of 3rd party or independant playlists that are as good quality as editorial playlists and can have the same effect. It is also much easier to reach out to these 3rd party curators, however determining a playlists quality before reaching out is extremely important! You should check out PlaylistSupply for filtering out good vs bad quality playlists 😃

I worked on them during Covid and use AI productivity life hacks, but I understand completely. D Nick releases 1 per week, has a channel like this, and has 4 monthly listeners. Every 6 weeks and I'll get bored, however I just started freelancing to include some ads and do the math.@@MediaBoy13
I do agree however. It's an experiment, and I will definitely not release if I'm not happy with the track. Also for the first time I started asking people for feedback so I hope that improves the quality.

Let’s say ppl have zero clue how to register songs to BMI the proper way and the requirements needed beforehand on screen or maybe certain things in marketing that’s said “go to this site for x” but rather than say that show it and what are the contingencies one must have in mind beforehand on what they need to do first before going to the site and what they need to do while on the site to not mess anything up upon submission.

You can reach out to them a few weeks before the release with an unlisted soundcloud link and let them know the release date. Then you can follow them up on release day to get yourself locked in to a bunch of playlists for that vital boost on release.

I'm quite keen to give this a go but put off by the fact that in my experience playlist placement/streams don't necessarily mean real fans. The funny thing is I have to sometimes slow down the video speed a bit so I can catch all the nuggets he's throwing out lol I just purchased my subscription to playlist supply last night after watching this video and now i'm going to spend a good chunk of the rest of the day utilizing it. I love the content, but you legally have to disclose whether or not this is an AD!!!
It’s not an ad I have said every single time when I’ve been paid and only take on about 1 out of 20 products in asked to whether paid or not. I found this to be a huge leap in the quality of these services and made this for free and in fact will probably lose money since I paid an editor.

Yes it is, he himself has previously knocked spotify playlist submit hubs like this in the past, however now that he's being paid its a different story. Don't get me wrong, these playlists may help you if only up until the first thousand monthly listeners if you're lucky, but you're better off spending this money towards more favorable ads like youtube or facebook. I still like this channel, but man can't you say whether or not your getting paid to do this?....
@@alibbeats This doesn't seem to be a submit hub more than it is a data aggregation tool to more easily search out playlists that have high listenership and provides direct contact to the curators. It's not submitting on your behalf. Also ads on facebook aren't a worthwhile investment depending on genre and what demographic you're targeting
I was not paid one dollar for this I did it out of thinking it’s helpful. The service showed me it as many do and I make maybe 1 out of 20 things I’m shown. I do adds when I think they are helpful and offer to pay but nothing was exchanged for this
That is not true I knock OTHER SERVICES. From day one I’ve endorsed Playlist Supply. I say up front in every video I’m paid for and there’s about 10 on the channel where I’m paid to endorse and I state it clearly. I find it’s unethical to not do that. But to claim I’ve ever knocked services like this is a lie. I knock the ones who are scams. I’ve endorsed using playlist supply in a very limited way for 4 years.

In every video I’m paid on this channel I state it. I’ve endorsed probably 20 products for each one I’m paid for and say when I’m paid each time. I made this for free because I endorse the product. Probably not so good to throw around accusations you have no proof of especially since I’ve been above board about this every single time.

A simple “this wasn’t sponsored” either in your video or in your response would suffice. This is like the 3rd video of yours I’ve ever seen so idk you like that and I don’t care about your channel's track record, the algorithm just gave me a video and I commented based on what I saw and felt after watching the video and then navigating to the recommended website and not having been forewarned that it is a paywalled service. Wasn't trolling or being a hater, was just simple feedback based on a one off experience as a relative newcomer to your content, so take it or leave it..

@@Musformation Ok, next time I will use “disclose” or “clarify” instead of divulge if that sounds too accusatory, or better yet I will be mindful to adjust my language and comment asking a direct and nonjudgmental question of exactly what I want to know (“was this an ad?”) instead of to attach a ethical judgmental to the critique (“not cool to not divulge whether or not it was an ad”).
That said, you can police language all day and it won’t make much difference to the experiences of viewers like me who will get recommended a short video like this one, attempt to try the advice, and then make a judgement about the content based on the information they have at hand. I wouldn’t have to politely ask you “hey man was this an ad?” if you simply clarified within the video that it was not, or clarified that you have to pay to sign up so that ppl know what to expect. Literally any of these things would go a long way, but sure, tone policing audience comments can help too sometimes if you feel that slighted, but I don’t think it’s the best or most scalable solution to the issue that caused this interaction to happen in the first place. Anyway, happy holidays to you.

Bro, i always find it so frustrating and hard to follow your speech,, i have to keep rewinding over and over again, slow down please, take breaths and pauses,, we need to first 1) hear you 2) watch the examples on screen, 3) Procsess it, 4) Lock it into memory and 5) Digest it,,, ahhhh and now we got it,,, but your already 10 miles down the and road running by that point and already 10 subjects later...
