I have seen other vids on painting roses, and couldn't get it, but, because you explain each detail, one like myself who never painted a rose, I had success. Thank you for sharing. I was looking at the white rose and thinking it needed another pedal in middle, lol when you added it. Beautiful...
Beautiful Marion, the step by step approach and the inclusion of tips really allow for one who's never painted a rose before to have success. Although it may as you said be sugar coated, there are many things one can do to change the pot. Like add a vase instead. Very nice, thank you for taking your time and sharing.
So glad I stumbled across your painting guide. I'm a beginner at oils and I've tried the wet on wet technique with very hit and miss results due to not knowing how to use a medium correctly. Although you say make it creamy I was counting how many dibs of oil on your brush and the look of your paint. Also your method of putting the oil onto the canvas in areas and scrubbing it in and removing excess was particularly helpful. I'd like to also thank you for showing how to make the petals and leaves with the different angles. I will need to practice those a bit more I think! But by the 3rd flower I was starting to get the hang of it. So all in all I found your post very very useful. 😁

I do have some oil paints did some Bob Ross painting too some years ago! I have watched some other video's of your's and they are great too!
