You are both so wholesome, positive and just clearly enjoying reviewing art. And how you picked the Brokeback Mountain reference straight away! Flawless. This is by far my favourite reaction video to this song and music video.
First- I’ve been waiting all day for this reaction! You are two of my all time favorite UA-camrs. Also- that’s Billy Porter who gave the guitar. He’s a gay icon. And you’d recognize him as either the Fairy Godfather in the newest Cinderella movie…or possibly as one of the warlocks on American Horror Story…. Or maybe his ICONIC red carpet looks.
He does reference Brokeback Mountain, it’s so well done. Love the positive vibes from you two! And the guy that hands him the guitar is the legend that is Billy Porter 🖤
Im a black trans woman, I'm 19, and I'm just coming into myself. But I've been used, manipulated, and mistreated since I was a kid. Almost my entire dating life has been this music video, so it hurts to listen to, but in a good way, almost liberating. This is the first time I've seen you react to anything, but thank you for the care and the lack of queerphobia in this reaction. It meant a lot to see something like this, so thank you
As a gay man this reaction makes me so happy to see that they didn’t judge him for the obvious and toke for the video for what it is, please keep doing more! Massive respect and there needs to be more people like you! 💚
The guy who got married to a woman is definitely a dl guy (basically what y’all said about scared to be themselves). I mean he could be bisexual or something but either way Nas didn’t know he had a girlfriend and kid.
The video is more about in life how you give some one everything they are your world or just simply in love with them and the person you thought you knew isn’t they presented themselves to be. Man or woman sure can relate to loving someone fully and heartbroken when they find out that person is not who they present themselves to be. Ps. The boy in the video is lil nas x dating/partner so he’s good 😊
I think the dude was on the DL and do think that was a nod to Brokeback Mountain. I love you all's reaction videos. especially to Lil Nas X. That was Billy Porter and he was on Pose he also introduced Lil Nas X at the MTV Music Awards
Normalising romantic scenes between gay guys is exactly what he wanted to do with this song! And that's Billy Porter, I'm not sure where he's been, but I know him from his fashion moments. He's also a flamboyant gay celebrity. And it turns out there are bisexual/gay dudes that stay closeted but screw around with innocent gay men and keep the whole thing as a "dirty secret" from their family and friends. From my best friend who's openly gay, it seems sadly very common. And yes this whole plot is inspired by Brokeback Mountain.
Peter, I saw a couple interviews a TikTok. However… There have been two interviews since then where he has stated that he’s got a man in his life who he is dating.
Yup that scene in Lil Nas video is hommage to Brokeback mountain movie, and if you didn't watch that movie, you should, its total opposite of what Lil Nas is doing this days and it's moving that Lil Nas is aware of that fact where we been and where we are now. He's one smart kid and gay community couldn't be more proud of him. Also apropo your reaction, it's so refreshing to see when straight people don't freak out when see gay stuff. Tnx for that. When I first saw him he was in American Horror Story as one of the Sorcerers and as the Fairy Godfather in the new Amazon cinderella, and also a lot of stuff. He is well know to be extravagant in what he wears as well like Nas.

Thanks for this channel. This ground-breaking music video is a metaphorical treasure trove. 1. Last, first -- At the end baby boomer BILLY PORTER is "passing the baton" to Lil Nas X (LNX), his millennial counterpart. The backstory: The music industry got antsy about the young Billy Porter "coming out" after signing an industry contract. And though many argued he could become a Prince or Michael Jackson, he was blacklisted. Despite sexuality, Mr. Porter and LNX are having the last laugh, as great talents with persistence can't be denied; eventually they'll make liars of you, and proceed to walk all over you (so to say), as justice must be served. 2. The wedding scene is a metaphor for having to love yourself before you can expend energy on someone else...LNX in a wedding dress by himself in a church signifies this. 3. Real love is magical and supernatural. Hiding, sabotaging and/or not seeking it for the notions of other people, something exhibited by the dl football player, is a mistake/and THOSE PEOPLE are no remedy. LNX knows that "when you're different, sometimes you don't see the millions of people who accept you for what you are. All you notice is the person who doesn't, so, be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.” I'm glad he's in the world b/c he demonstrates the truth represented in his mind, body and soul, which is a crown to be worn. He's unique, singularly sensational. Young LBGQT folks (and others) are lucky to have someone like him in the world for he often helps illuminate the wisdom of the ages in what can often be a cruel world. "To thine self be true." With due respect. (KFB, 9.21.21)
