In the mid 2000’s HK sent a bunch of German Police trade-in PSP’s to the US that were remanufactured and had the purple slides. I worked at the Fort Worth Cabela’s at the time and we were selling them for $600-700 dollars. They were a steal at that price.
I bought the P7M8 years ago thinking it was the ultimate carry gun. The first time I drew the pistol with my trigger finger straight along side, I hit the magazine release. I sold it and got a P7 PSP with the heel release which is the original design...much better. The N.J. state police requested the screwed up mag release. They didn't keep them long.
What you have there is a great example of a H&K P7M8 PSP(police self-loading pistol). This service weapon was designed by Helmut Weldle and first revealed to the public in 1976. H&K actually went on to produce this handgun in several calibers including the P7K3 in .22Lr, .32acp, and .380acp. P7M10 in .40S&W and they even made a prototype in .45acp the P7M7 but it never actually saw full production. This pistol has a gas piston delayed blowback action that at its time of creation was rather revolutionary allowing the use of a very light slide and recoil spring along with a fixed barrel which made it inherently accurate. The entire creation of this pistol was promoted by the 1972 Munich Olympics attacks because most of the German police at the time were packing a 32acp which they discovered had very little knock-down power. So at the request of the German police H&K started on a mission to arm their police with a pistol a little more capable in the power factor region. The pistol started mass production around 1979 Shortly after the pistol was adopted by the German Federal Police's counter-terrorism unit (GSG 9) and the German Army's special forces formations but production started to slow coming into the late 80’s and early 90’s and production would eventually be totally suspended on the P7 in 2008. What you have is a beautiful H&K P7M8 in what I would consider to be Good to maybe even Excellent Condition. The pistol is rich in history and has a rather intense collectible following at least for the ones in this kind of condition. I would hang on to this and enjoy it my friend all the while keeping in mind that it’s value in the current condition will continue to rise.
Good acquisition. I own a P7M8 purchased 1986 before deploying in Army assignment to LATAM. I equipped withTrijicon night sights. Carried it in next 3 years through our eventual invasion of Panama in 1989. Never had to use for-real but it was in--hand and ready to use. Housed in concealment holster & military style kevlar holster sized for my standard web gear with lanyard to insure safe retention in many parachute jumps. Fired it often. I found it safe to carry, absolutely reliable, accurate, my personal preference over the 9mm Berettas we were issued. I wish they could again manufacture and sell this model. Many would find this desirable.
Good find. Have owned one since 1986. Carried in military in LATAM. You now need to seek out, acquire spare magazines. Pistol is durable; mags if used do wear out. They have become scarce, expensive. I have managed to acquire 7 spare H&K mags.
Very Nice! You were better off passing on the 2006 and were able to get your hands on this '89...I have a '88 Chantilly date code of II, love it! These P7M8's are definitely keepers
This gun has a date code IK that indicates 1989 model. probably a safe queen. Mine was from 2003 and the sticker on the box from the store that I bought it from said $1399.00 that is what I paid at that time. Look at the piston and see if it has any carbon buildup, that will tell you if its been fired. Now that I see the piston, it looks brand new to me. I would enjoy shooting it without burning your trigger finger on the trigger guard. I think it is extremely safe for CCW because of the squeeze cocking mechanism.
P7 is the best pistol out there. If HK would just increase the mag capacity a little and switch to their trigger guard paddle mag release. I'd be having one of those Why Won't You Take My Money moments with HK. So accurate. Great gun.
Wow! One of the best acquisitions, ever! Another one of those guns I kick myself in the butt for not buying, back in the 80's. We didn't know how good we had it then; as far as quality built firearms and gun rights. With yesterday's court ruling, in Massachusetts, and the upcoming mid-term elections; we could witness the crippling of the Second Amendment.
Want. Want Want Want. Want. I wish they still made these--they'd still be obscenely popular. No, it doesn't do anything a Glock 43 doesn't do, but it's so darn...classy (particularly in Hans-from-Die-Hard stainless/chrome).
Great gun! Has been on my wish list for a while. Prices have been skyrocketing the past few years. Just picked up a Walther P5 in similar condition. Also a fantastic gun from that era.
I had owned a P5 way back in 2000... I foolishly traded it though. Yeah the pricing on the P7M8 is a little outrageous. Crazy! I didn't spend that much at all (I actually traded some things to get it) but... the original used price was more than fair.
The original owner probably wasn't really a "gun guy" and bought it for a home defense gun or something. That may explain the good condition of your HK. Great video.
yes they are still out there but some of the pricing is so out of line. OR maybe it is in line? I got mine for way less than 2k (I actually traded for it so...) Keep an eye out, they are out there
Great stuff! Love these guns! I’m still looking to get a few M8s in that good of condition to go with my M13s. I am sure that’s the original finish. If you’ve got anymore collectible HKs please make a video of them!!
I've always wanted a M13 and when the AWB sunset I did try to seek one out but no luck. Then the atrocity happened here and well... I do not have anymore collectible HKs... I wish I did. thanks
A friend of mine tried to seek me one a couple years ago. I did buy a Glock from him. Sure he still has it. But it was in a old cardboard box if I remember right.
Try Armslist or Gun broker....I was looking just last week for a spare mag for my P7M8 and saw several priced from $2500 to $4K depending on the condition. That was Gun Broker.com
I own both a P7 PSP and a M13 both in mint condition. The M13 is worth to much to shoot and the PSP seldom but I did replace the sights with a set of XS big dot.
Hardly any guns are worth too much to shoot and enjoy. Especially one built for functionality. I would totally understand if it was some art piece that isn’t replaceable (like one of the crazy Cabot guns that cost 20k+ lol)
yeah I am gonna kinda keep it that way, LOL. I don't have safe queens but... this one I think might turn into one. I shoot it from time to time and its a ton of fun but i doubt I will ever carry it.
I still have my P7M8 id share a pic but I’m unable to upload one .. at one time I owned one of each PSP’s and P7M13 and I should’ve held on to them .. the price of these awesome firearms have gone crazy back when they first released I paid like $800.00 each now their going for $3000.00 and upwards of $5000.00
Congrats. That is an awesome piece. I am a 45 guy, but I would adopt another caliber if I found a piece like that one. it is in great condition. I hope you got a good deal on it. But even if you did not, it is still a great buy.
yeah it was a good deal and was not outrageously priced (even for this condition!) but I traded to get it. I too am a 45 guy but I do own a bunch of 9mm's and they are fun to shoot (cheaper also) but my carry gun of choice is a 1911/45acp
Sweet, 2000 now ... easily as you stated. Nice really would go for a New Wilson 9 now . Over that . ( Just because I want to shoot what I own ) and would not shoot that . Just me It’s a keeper. Thanks It’s new dude be grateful ..
Enjoy it! Don't be afraid to run some rounds through it when you get the itch - just take care of it. With these, unless it's unfired, you can't really hurt the value by enjoying it. I have an M13 and just won an M8 yesterday on Gunbroker. Want to sell any of your Del Fatti holsters? I'd be interested lol

625PC reviews are mixed as far as accuracy goes that's what always held me back. Lately the 986 has been looking pretty sweet to me though:) . Either way a 325/625PC or 986 will be my first and likely last wheely. Enjoy your content and hope you stick with it.
There is a little notch underneath the trigger guard on the top of the squeeze cocker . So by depressing this with your finger you can silently de cock it !!!!!!!! So press that and slowly release the squeeze cocker ! 👌🏻
Really nice its very different from other semis. It looks like it was hardly used. I have found used guns in this condition some people just don't shoot that much. Is this a DAO
Not as holly as an m10 or m13 those in mint condition are 6000 on a bad day and they will only go up, dude you ever heard of GunBroker they are on there all the time.
Don’t be afraid to take it to the range IF you’re not going to make it a safe queen !! They’re highly collectible !! You have the American version of the P7, the PSP is the European version which has the heel release for the magazine, plus there is NO heat shield above the trigger guard to prevent the gun burning your trigger finger. That being said, the PSP is ideal for concealed carry, because you probably are not going to have to shoot that much if a situation does arise !! Congrats on being a H&K P7 owner ... there’s not too many of us, but you can find spare parts at WWW.HKPARTS.NET !! Thanks again for the great video, and enjoy your queen of the nine millimeter ✌️
2500 was too cheap you could have flipped in a year or two later for 4000. You will pay 4000 for a Wilson that goes down 20 percent if you sell used but you won’t spend 4000 on a gun that will double in a few years WTF.
TheOl1911 I saw some of the wilsons you ordered new elite professional Stainless is 3700 at least I own and sell Wilson’s that p7 in that condition would be 3500-4000 in that condition with bidding. M13 in that condition have gone 6000 I sold a m10 I bought in 93 New for 1200 for 5950.00 I have the same gun also in factory nickel that’s worth more, they will go up allot less of these than pythons. As far as being too expensive like the colt python customer if these were new today HK customers would pay for them an m13 could retail for 3500 and they would sell everyone they make. Look at Mr762 rifle or sp5k pistol they sell over retail and not enough supply. Unlike a python you need craftsman to make the guns and they are all dead so they won’t make them again but all HK needs to make these is Cnc machines and with updated technology would be better than originals they can make each gun for cost of 500-800 at factory. It’s all hype and reputation government price on a 416 full auto is 1750.00 civilian mr556 is 2800 make sense it’s all market value, on another note Marcinko is a personal life long friend I know my shit, my intstagram name is tacticlly.
Well, the P7 was crazy expensive throughout it's production run. Naturally people are less inclined to use expensive guns. I have mixed feelings on this. I really don't see the point in spending that level of money and not using an item that was expressly designed to be used. But you are ruining the value of the gun by using it.
That gun is in Top Condition..its a 3000$ gun..in that shape.(1988 and german.made).no doubt..with all the papers and box..🫡🇩🇪in germany most gunowner not shoot their guns..just collect them.
Does anyone know why some version of this gun have instead of "Heckler & Koch GMBH" like the one here and some have "HK Sidearms GmbH" instead (and no "Oberndorf" either on the slide, just "Made in Germany")?
Holy Rail or Holy Grail?
LOL - changing - thanks. That day I was working with Rail Guns... it must have just come out that way!
I hear Holy Rail too!
LOL okay, i hope youre able to sort out those doppelgangers reuploading your videos
Owned my P7-M8 since 1991, best all around pistol ever. Only issue with the P7 line of guns are Parts if any breakage.

If that gun was refinished, whoever did it is a magician. That gun just sat in a safe to be sure.
Has to be the highest quality pistol ever made.
Hahaha. Rail or grail, it's all good! What a great gun to own, collect, or shoot. I agree: I wish HK would bring these back, too.
1988....oh yes, you're talking about the "...And Justice for All" days..
yup... i was big time into thrash metal - even the more obscure stuff. ah the good ol days, haha
Sir, that pistol is beautiful! It appears to be the original finish.
Good find. Have owned one since 1986. Carried in military in LATAM. You now need to seek out, acquire spare magazines. Pistol is durable; mags if used do wear out. They have become scarce, expensive. I have managed to acquire 7 spare H&K mags.

Hey never say never you might find one today! But I'm sorry about what is happening in MA. We all most fight the good fight.
Want. Want Want Want. Want. I wish they still made these--they'd still be obscenely popular. No, it doesn't do anything a Glock 43 doesn't do, but it's so darn...classy (particularly in Hans-from-Die-Hard stainless/chrome).
I got to do a Range Time Short on this gun, people are definitely requesting it... yes Die-Hard!
Christopher Carr They are more accurate than the average Glock and have less recoil,I know,I have both.
Johnson's Sporting Goods in Adrian Michigan has one right now and it's priced at $7,999. It is like new. There was less than 500 made
I have owned one for over twenty years. It’s perhaps the best 9mm pistol I’ve ever used. Mine shoots best with 147 go sub-sonic hollow points.
Great gun! Has been on my wish list for a while. Prices have been skyrocketing the past few years. Just picked up a Walther P5 in similar condition. Also a fantastic gun from that era.

The original owner probably wasn't really a "gun guy" and bought it for a home defense gun or something. That may explain the good condition of your HK. Great video.
Thanks! Yeah must have been just a safe queen or home defense gun - I am happy with the condition.
I think it would shock most "shooters" the percentage of pistols bought that sit in closets for decades never fired at all...
Mine will stay as a safe queen! That p7 is definitely re-finished.
Yeah those are collectible!!!
I still shoot it from time to time but now I'm starting to think maybe it should be a semi-safe queen LOL. we'll see.
I've never gotten a chance to hold or shoot one of these but I've always wondered what all the hype was about very unique
Beautiful firearm thank you for sharing. Love the AMES reference
hahaha, I use to shop at Ames back in the day....thanks
TheOl1911 Ames was one of my first jobs.
funny - looooong time ago ex-GF worked as a cashier there and a good friend did asset protection there in the late 90s so I also know it well.
I have the same pistol and my safe queen is my HK41. Nice video.
Now that's a nice Holy Rail.
I used to have one. I was in a bind and had to get rid of it and I regret it. Still looking for one.
yes they are still out there but some of the pricing is so out of line. OR maybe it is in line? I got mine for way less than 2k (I actually traded for it so...) Keep an eye out, they are out there
I have one. It is NIB and it is for sale.
I love it! One item missing in my left is HK P7M8. Don't shoot, just show and tell please.
That's an excellent gun. Sucks that these are going for thousands of dollars nowadays. If not I'd definitely buy one
it is a bit outrageous. I mean this one was well under 2k (traded to get it) but I've seen prices all over the place its nuts.
Absoloutly stunning gun!!!
thanks!
Where’s the best place to buy one? Been looking for a few months and $2k USD is the cheapest I’ve seen.
Try Armslist or Gun broker....I was looking just last week for a spare mag for my P7M8 and saw several priced from $2500 to $4K depending on the condition. That was Gun Broker.com
Damn it looks brand new
Absolutely...lucky find...wtg 👍🏽
I own both a P7 PSP and a M13 both in mint condition. The M13 is worth to much to shoot and the PSP seldom but I did replace the sights with a set of XS big dot.
Hardly any guns are worth too much to shoot and enjoy. Especially one built for functionality. I would totally understand if it was some art piece that isn’t replaceable (like one of the crazy Cabot guns that cost 20k+ lol)
Cool gun and great video.
Man I want one of these.
got a little range vid coming up next
Original, LOW Round/Carry for sure!
yeah I am gonna kinda keep it that way, LOL.
I handled one of these once. my carpal tunnel really doesn't like the squeeze cocker.
I’m totally jelly!
Sweet, 2000 now ... easily as you stated. Nice really would go for a New Wilson 9 now . Over that . ( Just because I want to shoot what I own ) and would not shoot that .
Just me
It’s a keeper. Thanks It’s new dude be grateful ..
Very nice. Thank you.
One day I will own one too.
Got to shoot 50 rds from one. Accurate, ultra light trigger but WAY TOO HEAVY for an 8 round 9mm.
New Jersey State Police carried them.
Amazing condition and firearm. Is it a blowback design?
delayed-action blowback system yup
Gas operated....delayed ...
Holy rail or holy grail.
Nice piece there :)
So Funny about mouth or so ago I bought a brand new one factory fired from Teddy Jacobson (Action by T) gunsmith in Sugerland TX. The PSP With the purple slide with the first ones to be made or should I say imported if I was collecting I’d have to have a PSP first not an Americanized M8YM 13 it’s like buying a Beretta that’s made in the USA I much prefer the ones made in Italy
Wow... that’s in great condition! Great find. Very cool!
In my case, I’ve been searching for a West German SIG P228 in mint shape that doesn’t require a home equity loan to purchase.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks man! And hey you never know you might just find that P228 W.German !
Mark Gardner mint condition huh? Mine is ‘used’ but it’s a good pistol. Good luck in your search
I have a P7 made in 82 and also have a Sig P228 W. German made. My two most important guns in my safe together with my Browning HI Power Practical.
There is one for sale brand new never been shot at all, original box & paper.
Contact the gunsmith Teddy Jacobson.
She's a beauty congrats on it. Do you still have the 325TR? between her and the 625PC they are on my wish list.
Unfortunately no.... it went to fund a 1911.. but i will say the 325TR is an awesome revolver. I think I'd pick it over the 625PC.
I have the p 7 with the bottom heal magazine release . So I also had it when I was in the service . I am interested in the M8 . So let me know .
Really nice its very different from other semis. It looks like it was hardly used. I have found used guns in this condition some people just don't shoot that much. Is this a DAO

Life's too short. Carry it regularly and shoot it like you stole it. The feed ramp looks like it isn't even broken in yet.
مسدس المانيي هكلر 9 ملم ياخذ 8 طلقات
Not as holly as an m10 or m13 those in mint condition are 6000 on a bad day and they will only go up, dude you ever heard of GunBroker they are on there all the time.
My grail gun is the Walther P5
Hk simple best

This one was actually 1750 - and I would never spend 4k on any gun! But if this P7 can be resold for 4k wow that is an investment.
TheOl1911 I saw some of the wilsons you ordered new elite professional Stainless is 3700 at least I own and sell Wilson’s that p7 in that condition would be 3500-4000 in that condition with bidding.
But you are ruining the value of the gun by using it.
you keep your weapons in the STABLE??!!! that somehow DOESN'T seem "STABLE" period, and what the hell is a "HOLEY RAIL GUN"?? is it GOD'S rail gun🤨 🤭
The gun was made for 40 years. Slide markings change.
This isn't a review of the pistol ..just a feller gloating....
