Q do'in a snow ride ... SWEET!!! The white stuff really works the machines, eh!?!? And the "Right" tire makes a huge difference too, eh!?!? ... But looks like you still had a Great Day!! And that drifted soft deep snow will surprise a guy ... BREAK OUT THE WINCH LINE!! WOO HOO!! I loved it when you said you "You can't see the snow" ... Those new snowmobile suits they make now are amazingly warm. Oh, and heated grips/throttle control help too - LOL. Hey Buddy ! great video, really different than all the rest, I sure do miss riding the lakes, so much freedom to go anywhere. Nice group of buddies too with all different machines. That High Lifter was wild ! I'm pretty sure he got those tires off of the Grave Digger haha Holy crap they were huge !! Glad you test rode the Grizzly, those Zilla tires are a great all around tire, a lot of guys run them around here and say they hook up good in pretty much everything (Especially snow) The thing that helps the Grizzly get up and go is it is fairly light at about 600lb + the rider, so with a good set of tires they can go anywhere. Did you like the belt drive? smoother with no shifting? Some like and some dont. I might take that sound bite "I want a Yamaha" and use it in all my videos now hahahaha There were some beautiful homes on that lake ! Wow ! Thanks for sharing ! Hope all is good ! GLG !
Those HighLifter tires were stock buddy - LOL I've had a set of Zillas. They're barely an "OK" trail tire. I didn't like how they threw the handle bar around whenever you'd hit a bump, rock or log on the road. They are an AWESOME snow tire though and I might just get me a set strictly for winter riding - LOL. I love the CVT in the snow, but not on the trail. I like the DCT better for trail riding and considering I do most of my riding in months without snow, the DCT is the winner for me. Those were not "homes", they were cottages, cabins or "camps" as they are known along the East Coast. When you have a lot of money, you build a 10,000sq.ft camp - lol I want Royalties from "I want a Yamaha" - HAHAHA!!! - just kidding, knock yourself out and use it as much as you want! looks like a great day for a winter ride. Hey Q one of the best tires i have ever ran for an A/T tire that's good on the trail and in the snow is the original Maxxis Bighorn and the CST Abuzz.

That's a nice looking grizzly. They are very good quads. I miss mine. But I can relive my yamaha days by jumping on my wife's. Winter rides are a hoot. I fried my winch on Christmas holidays and haven't been out. Not smart to be out with no winch. Looking forward to seeing your new grizzly lol.
LOL - never say never I guess, but it's highly unlikely I'll switch from my Rubi. It's just such a great trail machine and I don't think I'd like all the heat the Grizz throws off in the summer. Bummer about your winch. Was it a Warn? (just curious). I've had really good luck with these Champion winches. It's the only one that I've owned so far that has been issue free with the freespool switch. I used to think Warn was bullet proof because of the price, but their freespool switch stops working after awhile too. I think I've tried about 6 different winches so far. Thanx for the comments and for watchin' Rob!
@Quaddingsous I ride with a friend that had a 420 rancher. It's a fun machine. The dct is pretty cool. That little machine will go through and over everything. He wishes he got the rubi for the high low feature. He tried to run 27s and with no low range they didn't work well. My winch is a warn. Kinda my fault it fried. I was asking it to do more than I should. I was buried in a snow bank. Pickup truck couldn't get out. I can hopefully just replace the motor. Will need to look at it more. Just been so under the weather lately. I got a kfi winch for the grizzly but it's still in the box in the shop. The service guy at yamaha recommended the kfi. So hopefully it's good.
Looks like y’all had a great time ripping the frozen lake and looking at the summer homes 🏦🕍 of the rich 💵💸💰and thinking of how our homes would look next to them 🏕⛺️
HAHAHAHAHA!!! As nice as it was, I'm pretty sure I'll stick with Honda on my next purchase, but it definitely made me think - lol. The only issue I had that day was my traction. I had plenty of power. Gotta get me some Zillas for winter riding😉 Thanx for the comments and for watchin' CDS!
You guys don’t have much for snow down south! In ne sask it would be tough slugging on the quads unless you have tracks on. Those are some really nice houses on the lake too
I'd love a set of tracks for my quad, but I've run out of storage space - HAHAHA!!! Not sure how far NE you are, but my buddy Kevin (the guy on the Polaris) has a place south of Hudson Bay near Reserve. He goes sledding up there a few times/year and yeah, that area almost always gets wayyyyyy too much snow for winter quadding! - lol Thanx for the comments and for watchin' Sasksleding!
@@quaddingsous I want tracks too, but I don’t think my 2001 Polaris sportsman 400 would even turn them 🤣. I’d be in the similar area to Kevin and we definitely get a ton of snow up there
@@sasksleding2008 . . . I haven't been up in that area much. Did one early winter quad trip out of Endeavour up to the Ushta Shelter and back, but that's about it other than when I was a kid. Used to get up there at least once a year to visit some family friends. The Mike Toth family. Mike was one of my dad's hunting buds. I think they lived east of Endeavour, but not sure. I was just a kid and that was like 50 years ago - LOL
@@quaddingsous I don’t really know if there is much of anything for quad trails in that area. Most of the sled trails are in fields or go through swamps. I usually just cruise the grids in the summer. The only reason we have quads is to push snow. I’m more of a sled guy myself
I can't believe those words are coming from you, AE! - lol - You live in the Arctic!😂If I remember correctly, it was only about -9 that day; a beautiful day for a ride! Thanx for the comments and for watching!
Q needs help pulling out, there's a crusty layer that gets wide open, riding each others machines, balls to the wall, grips are too hot, it's so close to Regina, look at the size of these things, look at the crack, Q you broke me off a great one! Thanks brother.
I like all four seasons. Fall is my favorite. Winter is slightly better than summer if the snow isn't too deep. Thanks for the comments and for watching Yves!
Yes, very long. Did you check it out on Google maps? Usually there's a pressure ridge every mile, so they are a lot smaller, but this year they are bigger ridges further apart. I wonder if that's maybe caused by a faster freeze? Thanks for the comments and for watching olive!
@@quaddingsous No, not yet, just was following your remarks. Ice ridges are formed due to changes in temperatures. Not sue why they are in different places this year. Maybe different wind patterns while forming?
@@olivei2484 . . . the thinner the ice, the smaller the pressure ridge right? So those big ridges were obviously formed by thick ice. My thought is it buckles upward under extreme pressure from water molecule expansion. But did it buckle all at once causing a 3ft ridge? or did the ice crack when it was only a few inches thick and then both sides of the crack kept pushing up against each other as they expanded until the ridge was 3ft high; just like a mountain range is formed?. My guess is the later, because if it snapped when it was 3ft thick the boom would have been insanely loud and I would have heard about it on the news or by word of mouth. It probably would also have registered on seismic equipment in the area and I've heard nothing about that. Either way, it's so cool to think about the power behind nature! The ice by that ridge was at least 3ft thick! Crazy right?!
@@quaddingsous Something like that, I read a little on them. Then one I crossed as a kid was 6 feet hight and about 4 feet across. Ice can undergo phase changes depending on temperature. These can cause it to buckle differently depending on the the forces involved. Ice moves either by current or wind. Once there is a break, the ice will continue to push up, like formation of mountains. I'll read more, not an expert on lake ice dynamics.
Hahahaha! I'd hardly call Grizzly power "thunder" - lol - the traction was the biggest difference between the 2 machines, but it was definitely nice! Very comfortable. Almost as nice as my Honda - lol. I've ridden Grizzly's in the summer and they don't feel any more peppier than my Honda. The CVT tranny is definitely better in the snow, but I prefer Honda's DCT on summer trails. What are cable chains? Thanx for the comments and for watchin' Steve!
@@quaddingsous Wow your mean lol looked like he had bungees holding chains on i guess its just the way i was looking at them poor camera work fire that guy lol , ya i miss the esp/dct on my Honda's i wish i would of bought a Rubicon instead of my wifes Grizzly just cause i like both machines i dont regret the second Grizz just 2 white Grizzly's stand out exellent machines only complaint they run hot , i will say i have heard of more issues / quality with the newer model changed Rubicon 17 to 22 were i have never heard that about a Honda
@@grousehunter67 . . . HAHAHA, stupid camera man! He's fired! - LOL Yeah, I've read on line about issues some guys were having with the auto-shifting. This is my second newer model Rubi. Only issue I had with the first one was was the gauge cluster getting stuck between gears when I came to a hard stop, but that was easily fixed by turning off the key and then back on again. As for this 2021 model, my only complaint is the way they designed the front skid plate to tuck under the rear one - like WTF were they thinking?!!! - HAHAHA! One of their engineers (probably the new guy, fresh out of engineering school) had a serious brain fart when he designed that abortion - LOL You can't go wrong with buying a Yamaha. They're good machines. Timmer was looking at one, but they were slightly more money and once you added all the extras in (front bush guard, aluminum sport rims, paint package and one other thing I can't think of), they were $2,000 more than a loaded Rubi. They had slightly more power than a Rubi, but everything else being equal, the Rubi was a better deal. The Grizz is way better looking though. The Rubi looks like a Polaris who's trying not to be a Polaris - HAHAHA!!!
@@quaddingsous ya personally the people ive talked to haven't had any issues its just what ive read online , All the Polaris owners ive talked to old and new atv /sxs always have some form of issues the only machine for sure if your buying new you better buy a extended warranty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . My biggest complaint what ive said before i dont like when the computer over rides in the manual mode on the Rubicon i just missed a extremely good deal on a 2009 Rubicon with esp and eps had about 2800 kms thought about it to much lol , my personal opinon a 500 cc machine is more than enough machine

Fun driving in snow, but this just look too cold lol
I can't believe those words are coming from you, AE! - lol - You live in the Arctic!😂If I remember correctly, it was only about -9 that day; a beautiful day for a ride!
Thanx for the comments and for watching!
@@quaddingsous Haha I know but I doesn't like the cold And nowdays I only been snow plowing with no driving since we have too much snow on trails.
Q get yourself some 28" wheels that's what I've got on my Canned Hamm 800 with those same Zilla's I haven't got stuck in the snow yet.
28" sounds good Bert! You buyin'?😉-lol
Thanx for the comments and for watchin' bud!
@@quaddingsous Lol I'm too poor these days haven't turned a track on the mini-excavator since before Christmas.
Q needs help pulling out, there's a crusty layer that gets wide open, riding each others machines, balls to the wall, grips are too hot, it's so close to Regina, look at the size of these things, look at the crack, Q you broke me off a great one! Thanks brother.
BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! You friggin' slay me Simcoe!
Thanx for the comments and for watchin' buddy!
What is your favorite season for riding. summer or winter?
I like all four seasons. Fall is my favorite. Winter is slightly better than summer if the snow isn't too deep.
Thanks for the comments and for watching Yves!
Looks like a long lake to me. We crossed an ice ridge years ago while on nordic skiis. Prob not the best plans of foollish kids.
@@olivei2484 Cool! Thanx bud! I love science shit!
Looks like some nice places well now you know what its like to feel the thunder ! did that polaris have cable chains on ?
He's fired! - LOL
Yeah, I've read on line about issues some guys were having with the auto-shifting. - HAHAHA! One of their engineers (probably the new guy, fresh out of engineering school) had a serious brain fart when he designed that abortion - LOL
You can't go wrong with buying a Yamaha.
I was curious Q if you own any snow machines or have you thought of tracks ?
What was the temp? You really got the Heat Demon cranked up.
I think it was around -10c. A beautiful day, but when the wind is blowing on your hands, they cool down fast regardless of how good your gloves are - lol - A pair of those seal skin mitts that my buddy Speedy has would probably do the trick, but who the hell wants to wear those cumbersome things 🤣

Q, the heating pad you talk about for your phone. I've been searching for one and have always come up blank. Where did you get yours? Thank you sir!
