You might have trouble making it work as smoothly as shown, but from mechanics side of things you can certainly make it. Hydraulics are great for this kind of thing. But it's one thing to make it and something completely different to make it so it's actually practical and reasonably priced. I agree, that it will probably not actually be brought to market. But not due to technical feasibility problems, it will not happen because the business case is not really there.
Nice concept i hope it will be able to carry so much weight with this much thin suspension and almost simple looking tyres it needs more work. But I'm impressed with the idea...
Pretty sure that making a CGI video of a sci-fi car concept is not the same as creating even a basic prototype. I might be impressed if it existed anywhere but in the minds of a designer
It would benefit from an additional 2 legs. You need to balance yourself during a strong crosswind and you could use the front legs to move around equipment like an ant.
C'mon, this concept is very old... Anyway, why not just make it fly like a drone and use the adjustable legs to enable it to land at most angles and on difficult terrain?
@@richc2419 This isn't an autonomous vehicle. They want it for discovery and also highlight the accessibility for rescue services. Still, even a drone (without anyone on board) would still way a hell of a lot although I'm now curious as to what it's use would be.
Rescue helicopters can operate just fine in mountainous places, e.g. Switzerland. They don't have to land anyhow. Chinooks can pick-up troops just by touching the ramp to the ground, but without landing.

But on serious note, if this concept can reduce the surface percentage of road and turn that into useful areas, that would be terrific...
Perhaps you should have devoted the money for this project into finding the exact cause for Hyundai Elantras RPM dropping so low at a stop that the engine shuts off. My 2015 Elantra has 32,000 miles and the dealership still hasn’t found the cause nor fix. I’m giving them another week and then I’m getting a Corolla.
Nope. First they thought it was a battery. Told them while they had it to go ahead and change the oil, oil filter, air filter, and cabin air filter. Got the car back and the problem returned. Works fine when cold, when fully warmed up is when the stalling starts when the car comes to a full stop. RPMs dropped below 600 and the engine shuts down. It’s back at the dealership again and this time they gave me a loaner,...a 2017 Hyundai Elantra GT. More powerful and thirsty engine, no alloy rims, no back up camera, and 12,000 more miles than my 2015 Elantra (mine is 32,000 miles). Worse is they gave me the car with a quarter tank of gas.
It's wrong because it looks like a cartoon made for children. Quadruped when walking always has three legs on the ground as support. This has to be corrected, does not it?
I need that when I go to Mars !, either that or to avoid potholes in the road near me in Cheshire, I wonder if it can do the Michael Jackson Moon Walk? All Michael Jackson fans have to get that car for sure ! And those who want to play a Martian have to get one also !.

was thinking the same unless hyundai has developed sone crazy powerful pneumatic piston to carry the weight of the vehicle with those flimsy legs. Cool concept tho can see it being used in emergency situation.
@@kai-jf2vd They seem to want to use servo motors similar to industrial robotic arms. Now the main problem is the way the legs(arms) are bent. In order to simply stand the "car" would need to use excessive energy to keep the motors from turning and avoid collapsing...

Sad but true :(

I could use a few of these for an event I have planned on the forest moon of Endor, but only if you can make them Ewok-proof.
