It doesn't make sense why the journalists would laugh though. If someone like Savage hasn't got the authority to give out his opinions on players then surely the football writers in the press conferences have no chance, he's pretty much undermined their careers in front of them and they don't even realise

@@ironheade22 I think you're argument is sound, patrick. anyone has a right to express an opinion. It definitely could be seen as a backhanded jibe at all the reporters there but i dont think thats where JT was going with it. In my little opinion, JT was purely wearing his heart on his sleeve and so was unable to mask the emotional tugging/triggering he feels when someone he deems to be a lesser player criticizes him. He's snapping back like he would be bantering with his mates - being annoyed so just telling it how it is with a straight face. pretty funny, and the reporters knew it. peace.

I'm especially a Terry fan ( certainly NOT a Chelski fan ) but fair shout to JT. Robbie Sav is a laff sometimes in commentary, but having a dig a someone of JT's stature is a bit much. So for the first time in my life I think, I will say " well done John Terry."
    Nothing personal Sav :-)

What he’s saying is that he doesn’t value the regular football fans opinion then either. As if we don’t now anything! Considering a lot of fans play themselves, maybe even at good standards as well.

But criticism is criticism, it doesn't matter how good the player is? For example A Nottingham Forest full back may observe a Manchester city full back and criticize them - right?

Still makes me laugh that the very journalists laughing along in that room to Terry don't even realise he's basically saying their opinions are even less valid than Savage's who at least had a career in football and the experience that comes with it.
