Got to love "Winter Golf", really is a game leveler!! Temperatures in single figures, winter mats, fairway mats and greens like a 10 day unshaven face and yet we still go out to play. We're all somewhat deranged as we all believe that, despite the conditions, we're going to play like golfing gods!!🤣🤣
Have to disagree with you mate. Playing in weather like this is not a leveller at all. Basically playing off the reds and winter greens. Course way shorter and we always say add 10-15 shots on and that’s what you would have been off the whites.
Try a mini turn with your right butt cheek for your backswing when chipping and pitching and another mini turn with your left butt cheek to finish. A little wrist hinge and quiet arms, it works for me 🍺
kudos to you for keeping your composure mate, as a high handicapper myself i know how hard it is to keep your head up when you are having a bad round. looking forward to the next video pal
Recently come across your channel, love the content. Winter golf is always tough but admire your determination and you are still smiling at the end which is very admirable. Keep going!!
kudos for uploading this, many lesser men would have condemned the footage to the cutting room floor! I really think once you get your swing working inside to out, you're going to instantly start dropping good scores. Keep up the good work! winter golf in the UK is better than no golf, sometimes! :D
Dennis you are an admirable young man. You’re keeping it real and totally relatable to the vast majority of golfers out there. Have to say that if I had filmed myself playing the golf I played then UA-cam would have pulled down my channel with the X-Rated commentary, come to think of it they still would 😂. Keep going and look forward to next episode.
Played last week, exactly the same. Hit two decent drives all day and could not putt ti save my life. However you know what happens we go again next time! Love the content, keep them coming
Looks like tough conditions mate. If you ever come to australia its rare to have conditions like this! Bad rounds happen. Keep your head up! Because a great round will come ❤
Found your channel recently. Really enjoying your content! Great to see someone making progress in their game along the way. Gives us all hope we might improve! Be great to see a 2024 what's in the bag when the season starts!
Anyone who has played during the winter in the UK will know how brutal it can be out on the course. The fact you are out and grinding is a good thing. Roll on the spring 🌹🌼🌿
Much of the reason we seem to get a string of short putt misses is that after the first, we’re subconsciously afraid of missing and going too far so we then hit weak putts that take all the break rather than nice and firm aiming to hit the back of the cup. Keep them coming Dennis, can’t get enough of ‘em!
Love you attitude to golf ⛳️ we are not all great at the game some good swings and mostly bad but the one thing you can see with you is your enjoyment in it you could not wipe that smile off your face 😂 love your content only just come across your channel but I will be watching loads more of your videos Keep having fun
Keep the videos coming dennis .golfers like yourself are what us newbie golfers relate too Golf is so hard in the winter , Just look at it this way , theres allways the next round 😁.
I’m a high handicapper Dennis so appreciate you posting this relatable round! Of course I have no basis to provide advice but feel like most amateurs don’t take enough club and noticed you were short of the green quite a lot during this round. I also wonder if you’ve experimented with a different putter grip? It may help on days when the flat stick isn’t behaving? Great content, thank you
Love your honesty on the channel. Totally feel your pain on games like this. Hours spent on the range, feeling great. Out playing winter golf, feeling deflated !!. Yet...... We still persevere. Onwards and upwards. Keep up the great content. P.S. i would love your scores atm
On the bright side, more shots means we get to spend a bit more time with you. Tricky day but I know those so well and you’ll be back Dennis. Great video
This is the most relateable kind of golf for most british players. Also recently discovered your channel like a few others. Really great content, gives me hope as a someone who is new to the game!
6:31 You took your grip with the club on the turf. You hit off the mat. The shot went left. The ball is above your feet. left is a natural miss. Buddy, You are a few putts away from the number. This spring and summer. You are gonna be shocked how well you are gonna play. We will be here for the journey.
God I felt this round deep within 😅🫣 been playing a year, followed up my best ever round of 89 to something similar to this straight after 😂 winter golf makes this game even harder. Keep up the 🔝 content!
Well done Denis. Short game wasn’t quite there was it few chips and putts and you’d of broke 95 easy. I’d keep clubbing up though whilst the course has no roll out you were generally pin high. Agree where long is dead play to miss short. That looked a tough course for distance not a flat course, plenty of elevated tee shots, uphill approaches etc. always give us amateur golfers a tough time for distance control. And after we do all the maths we thin it anyway 😂
Well done for putting this out!! Love your enthusiasm and high morale for the most part haha just saw your channel off upanddowngolf and heard the nothern accent so came to check out your channel! Great content, we're based in Leeds so if you want to get a round in let us know! My partner plays off plus 3 so we could do a scramble and try and take him on - matchplay !
You hit some really good shots and made some great recoveries for some of the bad approach shots so we are noticing you game improving. It is strange though when the putter goes cold. It seems like when you miss a few putts it really gets into your head as it does to all of us and we then what the expectation that the putts will miss. If I concentrate on the hole after reading the putt and allow my brain to take over it is amazing how accurate you can be. By the way are games are very similar. I usually score between 88-97. Thanks for posting!
You still broke 100 playing in those conditions and not having the best day with your putter. Look for the positives in that round, there's a decent golfer in there just waiting for the Spring 😂 Very very relatable as always
wait. you played poorly, yet still broke 100 :O that's pretty stella my guy. other than 9 and 10 it wasn't awful, just not your best. this time last year you'd have been stoked to break 100, just a measure of how far you've come. 🙌
Dennis you really shouldn't beat yourself up so much, there are things that you do very well... you tee the ball up well and you pick the ball out of the hole nicely (eventually lol)... but joking aside we've all been there and still have s😈🤬t rounds and look on the bright side..... you've at least another 40 years at this mad game....🌟🎊🤩🥳
I've mentioned this to Denis before. Denis I think u should add alignment to your pre shot routine, stand behind the ball, hold the club out and point it where u want the ball to go, find a spot on the floor close to the ball where you've held the club out and line the club up to that and then take your stance.
Well played. Not really that bad of a round. Some days the putter is just cold and you can't get a feel for it. You only had a few holes that got out of hand. I'd be ok with a round like that.
Have you thought about an iron only round? When inwas scoring slightly higher, i played some of my best golf with just itons. Might be interesting you try this. But keep up the good work! You'll get there, I'm sure of it!
I did this exact thing for quite a while. I’m using this off season so concur driver. I’ve been grinding since this video so look out for improvements 🙌
@@BogeyGolfUK you seem to struggle just off the green, that's where the chipper is perfect. Scorecard doesn't show you use a chipper 😁. I have the brnr and the TaylorMade 300 somewhere. Putter really let you down made the scorecard a lot worse but for the most part your swing was looking a lot better you could see the swings in which you had an in to out swing and the ones you came over the top and got handsey.

@@BogeyGolfUK you can get some dodgy claggy lies around the green in winter. With your down hill chipping it looks like you try to lift it up. Lift up and lean left, it’s going to come out lower and run more.
