Sad thing about dongour lake is that the ideginous people didnt get the amount payment they were promised to be paid by the government. And many lands were tragically snatched by the then government. 😢

One thing u missed out is regarding "Raima Saima tales" it could have been more informative if you could have mention about Raima Saima tales- The story of two sisters. There is an interesting folktales regarding Dumboor where two rivers merged together namely Raima and Saima. Raima happened to be elder sister and Saima happened to be younger one. The story begins like this, the father of the girls is an "Ochai" the village priest, due to his busy works he could not look after the jhum field and the two sisters have to look after jhum cultivation. One day, there was heavy rain fall and the girls did not have a house to protect themselves from the heavy stormed. The elder Sister promised to herself that whoever built the house(bamboo house- we called it Garing in kokborok) she will accept as her husband and they went home. The next day when they came again in the jhum. They saw a nicely built bamboo house. Now they were curious to know who that person is? The elder sister told to his younger sister called to your brother in law. Like the elder sister said, the younger sister called her brother in law. She called 6-7 times and then huge python came (who used to be a prince but due to curse he became a python). The younger sister could not accept it as her brother in law but the elder sister have no choice but to accept as her husband as she had promised the previous day. The father of the girls came to know regarding this, he was very furious So he planed to killed the python. So one fine day, the Ochai (father) went to jhum field with the younger daughter and send elder daughter to another field. So when the father reached to their field, he told the younger daughter to called the python. Like the father said she called and the python came. And the father killed the python by chopping the head of the python. Even today where the python head was burried, there is flower name Khumpui still exist. The flower still used to blossom in that place where the head was burried. That is why Many local used to go to that place and give Puja. Next time when u visit again please ask the local regarding Raima Saima or Khumpui. It will be informative for the viewers. Thank you for visit Our beautiful state.
