  • In this Physics video lecture in Hindi for class 11 we explained radius of gyration or gyradius. Radius of gyration or gyradius of a body about an axis of rotation is defined as the radial distance of a point from the axis of rotation at which, if the whole mass of the body is assumed to be concentrated, its moment of inertia about the given axis would be the same as with its actual distribution of mass.
    We evaluated the radius of gyration for a disc rotating about an axis passing through its centre of mass and prpendicular to the plane of the disc.
    We also evaluated the radius of gyration for a rod rotating about an axis passing through its centre of mass and perpendicular to that rod.

    A point mass which will be having same mass as whole disk means it will be cemtre of mass...So Sir how we can consider this?
