During a three year posting to Germany in the 1950's I spent all my time off visiting these unspoilt places, a wonderful way and pace of life unique to many parts of this region. I loved every minute and wish I could turn back the clock. It never failed to amaze me Just how many people could place music in small groups, without sheet music, and play pp and mp unlike so many groups and band's of today. I hope their culture and traditions are not diluted with the ever changing population changing countries. Top marks to all of those musicians who give so much pleasure to those who appreciate what is involved.☺

I've never been to Germany, I have no German ancestors and it brings tears to my eyes and a certain pain in my chest as if I were missing something or someone from the past .can anyone describe this feeling or Explain it to me? I just wished somebody would explain why I miss places I´ve never been to and I feel a deep connection with events that took place in World War II...What do you really think about it? What am I going to find in those books you´ve mentioned? I don´t want to mess up my mind...

England also had this a couple of generations back, all of Europe did.
But it has mostly been replaced by modern pop which is a shame.
