The fans are important. Signaling a man a lady is interested she gave the full fan open. A closed fan meant the lady wasn’t interested. So Eloise giving in into Cessidas „courtship“ and being anointed by it makes me wonder if E did make it on purpose. 😊
I’m starting to think Eloise. Is still Penelope’s friend, despite being mad at her. Maybe she’s protecting Penelope in someway by befriending Cressida. Because do you see Eloise’s face?
It’s realistic though, we all hate it, but it’s realistic, she had a fight with Pen, and also we see she’s trying to get out of her “rebellious” mode. In a way, this season is the maturing one for both El and Pen, realizing they have to grow up, so I think El’s trying to be more ladylike while being with Cressida, and Pen’s trying to find a husband cause they both realize that they have to do these stuff. And it’s a good parallel because they’re probably the two most strong female young characters, and they’re growing, each one in her own way, and they’re blossoming apart for a while.

I’m hoping that Eloise is leveraging her friendship to redeem herself to the ton and push the feminist agenda, and not actually becoming a mean girl. But girl.. CRESSIDA?? 😣

It might have something to do with the article l. If no one else is talking to Elosie because of it and Cressida is because, well, she knows what it's like to be the bad girl.

I think they're giving the jealousy about being a writer story arc to Eloise, and Eloise coming to terms with that, and sharing her writing (perhaps a secret novel) with Penelope, will be the resolution.
Mayeb because of the article that Penelope wrote about Elosie is the reason why she's hanging out with Cressida. I mean sure the Queen saved the family from shame, but people are still going to look down at Elosie. So why her friend is having the best season of her life, Elosie might be suffering. So the only one who would talk to her is Cressida, who herself hasn't been spared in LW.
I knew Eloise was going to team up with Cressida to bring Penelope's Lady Whistledown identity down.
How cool would it be if Cressida (finding out that Pen is LW) storms into her room and flings everything the dresser, the scribbles furiously and manically then smiles as she lifts up a page that says. "THIS WOMAN IS LADY WHISTLEDOWN and as she moves away we see that it is a portrait of...HER!" a la Regina George and the burn book meltdown. I would scream.

They gave a little bit of a redemption arc to Regina at the very end of mean girls
Lol it’s all a ploy to create more drama in the show as suppose to the books 😂. Cuz in the books Cressida just guess’s that Pen is Lady Whistledown cuz Cressida was a widow who was in dire need of finical help and Lady Danbury had announced a bet that whoever reveals the real identity of Lady Whisltedown will be given 1000 pounds. I think I’m the show, Eloisa will blurt it out by mistake, and when she realizes that Pen wasn’t wrong in hiding plus that she is going to be her Sister-in-law, fighting against Cressida is how Eloisa and Pen will become friends again 😊😅

Methinks Sophie will be tied to the Cowpers, and they need a reason to get into that family without being too obvious about it
I think Cressida will be the villain of Benny’s season, being “sister”s with Sophie and I adore Eloise but I hate that she’s with Cressida so much 😢😢😢

tis very sad if she doesn't. After watching part 1 - I feel bad for Cressida, she's not even close to that merciless evil from the books and more of it - she's not a bad person at all, she's actually vulnerable and fragile woman who is very astray and desperately needs a friend. It would've been great if after her posing as LW plot will fail - Eloise will forgive her, will not break ties with her and will give her that little amount of love she lacks completely in her family.
