  • Since of February 27th the LIRR has officially opened direct service to and from grand central thus making the railroad twice as busy as well as dramatic adjustments. The new timetable has also came into effect since of February 27th with an entire new fleet of trains, route adjustments, and of course direct service to and from grand central Madison. Excellent. Shortly before you shot this video, I left New York after living directly across Nassau Interlocking / the new G16 Substation installation from early 2020 until January 2023. I witnessed firsthand (and close-up) the entire "Third Track" expansion there, "from the ground up". Wonderful "taking a trip" back there to see these great scenes...especially the snow footage to close the show. Seeing the alcohol / "leaf" train was quite a treat...the last "unique" LIRR equipment I photographed before leaving Long Island. Thank you... 👍👍👏
