I'm glad they persevered and worked toward improving, because this game looks sooo much better (even though it's basically just Doom Eternal)! I would not mind seeing another video or 3 on this. I want to know how good an ancient weapon is!
Wow the game looks like great fun. I hope they include a mode where you don't need to reload, like the modifiers in Compound as an example. Just seems like it'd be a fun option for a more movement/grapple focused play session. But I do understand where you don't reload in Doom but have limited ammo, here you have unlimited ammo and also a Rogue-like Gun/replay system, so yah, balance and such. But as a modifier option :)? But dang, it looks good and the environment variation is wild for a quest game. The Dev team kicked butt with this one.
You dont need to reload you can use the other gun in your hand to pull the lever back to reload it and some of them dont need reloading you just shake the gun in a certain direction and it reloads itself

So what you're saying is this is advanced humanity. Discovering and researching the doom guy's race. And that's why there are so many demons Spawn around because they don't want the doom guy to or any other his race to start up Again So they guard the ruins....
My guess is that our character didn't have a hibernation failure- they died. The character is just a clone wearing an exosuit, and the Raven AI is attempting to fulfill the late Adam's goal of becoming immortal or performing another function by wiping Grace's memories and using her personality construct as backup software. You can't do anything about it, because you were specifically given faulty vocal chords so you, as "Adam" can't jeopardize the mission. It also sounds like Adam is a really, really bad man- in fact, he could be Raven pretending to be an AI, and Grace didn't come willingly, but was "brainnapped" to bring her in.
Previous trailers talked about the mc being a "devoted husband" so I think Adam wants to core of reseract to bring Grace back from the dead, not necessarily that he's clone, but good deductions!
As someone who paid a decent bit of money for Outlier expecting a full experience, I was pretty disappointed when they cancelled that project, though I understood why, it was just so so buggy. Glad to see the spaceship from the old game and some of the ancient weapons got reused for this one! I did opt not to get a refund for Outlier and keep it's demo in my Steam library, but Dead Hook leaves Outlier in it's dust by a thousand miles! The game is so so so much more fun to play!
