That's an amazing DIY 78 rpm turntable. My only minor criticism would be that it would be great if there was a variable speed option because Al Jolson's voice is typically deeper (although it may have been that higher pitch back in 1928 versus his voice in the 40's). In my own experience with my antique hand-crank Empire, HMV, and Victrola gramophone players, I had to reduce the speed from 78 rpm to about 75 or 76 rpm to hear Al Jolson's well-known deep singing voice at the correct pitch. Bravo regarding that amazing DIV turntable project though. :)
Wow, beautiful DIY build - and a great record too! It seems like there aren't any turntables on the market that have 3 speed, good build quality/performance and also a fine control over the speed like you have implemented here with an arduino which is a shame. Maybe there will be a DIY project in my future too :)
hello this is a great turntable I would love to be able to build one of these do you think you can send me the information on you built this I really like it you are a great designer it really is professional grade
great job I would really like to know if you can tell me what I would need to do this and if you can send me the specifications of what I need to do to make one this is solid and a great build thank you for sharing this
Hey, thanks a lot! I just launched a blog on DIY tonearm building from 3D printed parts. Check out: www.calypso-tonearm.blogspot.de I will post more info on this record player soon.

Nice work!
