Dog owner speaks out against Phoenix groomer accused of mistreatment

- Brieanna Leal reached out to ABC15 today thinking her dog was the one in the video being slammed on a table at a local pet grooming business. Leal has been taking her Pomeranian-poodle mix named Lulu to Critter Corral Pet Grooming since March of 2021. ABC15 contacted the employee who recorded the owner’s actions. She says Lulu was not one of the dogs in the videos and has already reached out to those impacted. Leal is relieved but still has concerns.

If the dog groomer did this to that one little dog, you know that that was not a one time incident... It brought me to tears seeing that helpless little dog being slammed on the table. 😥
Animal cruelty laws are getting stronger. I hope this evidence gets the groomer jail time, and prohibits her from ever being allowed to be around animals.
went to yelp and according to some comments this been going on for years… one of the comments dating 6 years back mentioned picking up his/her dog was bleeding from ear and other area… another person made a smart decision after seeing how “dirty the place was and smelled of dog tribe and other dogs looked very scared, terrified” and right away turned around and left (dating years ago as well).. I really don’t want to know at this point how many animals and how long they have been abused for!!!
But what the groomer did in that video, is unforgivable, in-excusable!
It doesn't matter HOW "upset" you were, how bad of a day you've had, you don't abuse an innocent animal like that!

That is horrible, poor little baby. These pets can't say what really happens when they are getting groomed. I'm sure this happens a lot with animals, you won't know unless there's video showing the abuse. Thank you to whoever taped it.

This happens in a lot of places, it’s better to go to a dog grooming service that has see through panels or windows where customers and staff can see each other at all times. A lot of petsmarts and petcos have this set up where you can see the groomers working while you shop around.
I said the same thing. Why wouldn’t they just got to PetSmart or something? Can’t trust these local businesses when you can’t see what’s happening to your dog

This is why I do NOT take my dogs to a groomer, I’ve been shaving my (4)long haired mini Dachshunds for about 13yrs now, and I’m STILL not very good at it and their hair cuts prove it, but I don’t trust anyone outside my home with my dogs…not worth the risk, the backaches are thou…love my fur babies to the moon and back❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Back when my Buddy was still alive, I took him to get groomed once. I was there to watch the process. The way she yanked the hair out of his ears made him cry. Then she took this powder stuff to squirt in his ears but it got in his eyes. Then, without asking me, she sprayed cologne on him! I said, what the Hell is the matter with you? Are you drunk? Have you groomed a dog before? You will never touch my dog again! I complained to the owner
/manager. I never took my boy to another groomer. I cut his hair myself after that. I once saw a video of a woman who had her dog kidnapped & went to the house, while the lady was gone, & her dog was crying thru the front window for her. I'm afraid I would've broken that window to get my dog & would've dealt with whatever consequence s afterward! People are so evil to poor helpless animals!

Her name needs to be revealed. Too many times people get off from loop holes or some other bullshit. She'll just move and /or open another shop and eventually get frustrated and abuse more dogs. She said "when I was burnt out" like that's an adequate explanation for terrifying someone's fur baby.

I got my dog groomed here for YEARS by the groomer in the photo. My dogs would always come home happy. But still, makes me wonder if they were mistreated here as well. I also received the same text message from the owner at Critter Corral. Heartbreaking

Her dog was severely physically and emotional abused I hope she sues I hope she calls 911 I hope she confronts the the person that have used their dog this is absolutely outrageous epic somebody needs to go to prison they need to be held accountable

Same thing happened to a dog groomer in our area. They send my little Maltese (very similar to the one being abused in the video) home and I found a quarter size, chunk of his hair along with skin missing. I could see his muscles and tissues. Immediately took him to our vet's office. The doctor thought that while brushing his hair so hard, they pulled his hair and skin out. He was given pain medication and antibiotics. I was so angry for not even telling me about it. If it was an accident, all they had to do was to tell me and explain it, so I get him help and medications. I found out that I was not the only unhappy customer. Less than six months later she had to close her door, thank God. But who knows if she opens another one again, or just works somewhere else.
You really have to make sure your dog is safe, just like a child when you leave them with others.
I really hope this lady does NOT take care of animals anymore. Shame on her for taking her frustration out on a helpless and innocent animal. Big shame on her.
Edit; Word of mouth can be best kind of advertisement for a small business, also can ruin their business. I hope everyone in her area sees this video.

I'd bet the farm that there are many, many other dogs who have been victims to this loser.
God help any animal or child that cross this losers path.

I don't like dogs, they are annoying AF, they smell and owners never clean up their 💩 but this really angers me. No need to treat a dog this way and you should definitely be in jail.
This is why I’m starting up my at home grooming services 💔 you never know who you’re bringing your doggie to and I want to start up a culture of integrity and transparency. This is shocking, but I’m not surprised. I’ve worked at both corporate and private salons- and have seen some horrible things.

Owner basically went into victim mode and took zero accountability. This is a major theme in America these days.
Most dogs hate being "groomed" but humans insist on this behaviour. Perhaps we should learn a better way???? Maybe we could educate ourselves more and learn to groom our pets (only when necessary) at home, where they feel less scared? Animals are energetically sensitive, we force them into salons full of noise, fear and bad vibes just because we are too slack to learn 🤷😔
