I've been told by my mechanic to rebuild my NADA P6B 3500s engine... now you've got me 🤔 💭 The TC2000 is almost finished so at least I'll have a daily driver.
Theoretically if its in good shape similar, but few will, partly because most are half worn out and partly because to run 10.5 cr on modern fuel the ignition timing needs retarding a long way to stop pinking, which also robs power
@@PenguinMotors That’s interesting! It’s done 80k miles original everything but still runs very very well when warmed up. They only bad thing I can say is it isn’t always used often. Do you reckon the engine will be in decent Nick still?
TBH its probably knackered! they hide wear really well, unless its had a rebuild the timing chain will be well stretched the cam worn and the crank bearings pretty tired, usually the bores and rings are still in decent shape
@@PenguinMotors Interesting! I've heard they hide it well. I'll tell my dad. She sits in the garage a lot and we want to use her again. Completely original car so very few left really!
That was just music to my ears. I have always just loved the sound of this particular V8 and this one is as sweet as they come.
That was both interesting and surprising.
I was expecting it to be way lower. 👍
me too i was expecting about 145bhp
Another great video Graham , no wonder the boys in blue had a rover to catch them bad guys 😎

Interesting. My father had a 74 3500 p6 in 1980. A very quick car!
Awesome... I hope I still have 143bhp then.
It'll be interesting to see how much power my dad's P5B makes!

While is on the dyno, please throw on a single turbo. 15psi boost, I guess 300 bhp.
that would be about right, assuming you size the turbo correctly and every thing else is good, then yes a bar of boost should see about 300bhp.
@@PenguinMotors I am doing it another way.... ua-cam.com/video/Dr1TpZHbgD8/v-deo.html
my offer still stands on a edelbrock 500 and manifold if u want to borrow
thanks Ross, might take you up on that, but first i got to put together an engine to try it on :)
