- There's "Instagram"...then there's reality. Life isn't always my-ties & umbrellas on a floating cabin! We took a hard left from catching bass on a 65 degree afternoon to torching the pipes in our tankless hot water heater to melt the ice on a 10 degree day. But the drama didn’t stop there! Check out this week’s vlog for a realistic look into the struggles winter can bring when you’re living on a boat full-time!
Lake life truly is the best life…but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy! Every full-time boater knows that having any nice amenities (like an on-demand water heater) on your houseboat/sailboat/floating cabin/etc almost always tends to go hand in hand with a considerable amount of maintenance & headache. But hey - ya gotta work hard to play hard! We're still just happy to be out here, despite the setbacks. Follow along with us as we try and put out the fires (literally) that this most recent snow/ice storm caused us on our floating mountain cabin!

That was an intense weekend! I'm with Brandon on that weather forecast. We had spent the previous week in Key West and didn't expect the forecast to be accurate either.
For the number of times they’ve gotten it wrong this winter, this was an annoying weekend to finally get it right!! 🤣

Yes!! Thank goodness! Brandon was able to cut off the propane gas fueling the heating unit, and that stopped the flames before it got too out of hand! I'd definitely say we got lucky.
I'm surprised you all haven't moved to Florida!
Hahaha we stick it out in the winter here mainly because our pup is so happy in the cold. She hates summer, we hate winter, here we have both so it’s a good compromise bc she deserves her happy time too 💙💙 one day down the road though, we plan to hop on a sailboat & spend a couple decades cruising the caribbean where it’s always warm 😍
My vacation cabin is few miles away in the Gorge, and that wind is for real! Gusts just come out of nowhere!
Right?!? Glad to know it’s not just us. 🤣 Hopefully summer will be calmer!
