A Newsies drama would be so interesting and Im sure it would move me to tears (I heard rumors that Jack had a brother in the drama version of Newsies that would have died). That said I am glad its a musical cause Carrying the Banner is my favorite song.

So that’s why they promoted the original movie the way they did! When the movie was coming out they portrayed it as a straight drama in the trailers which is one of the reasons it didn’t do well in theaters

I am in newsies Junior right now and I cannot imagine the show without the music it is my favorite show I’ve ever done by four. I love the music I love the energy. It’s an amazing show and I love it so much. And if any of you would like to know what character I am I am Muriel it’s the newsies Junior version of Finch. I absolutely love the show. It has been amazing experience and I’m really happy that I was able to be a part of it.

I actually didn’t know this. This is actually one of four broadway musicals based on true events in history.
Chicago was based on two women who committed murder. Velma murdered a man, and Roxie murdered her husband and sister.
Catch Me If You Can is based on the story of a con man named Frank who conned people as a Pilot, doctor, and Lawyer. He also passed fake checks.
Hamilton is based on the story of Alexander Hamilton who was a member of President George Washington’s presidential cabinet.
Newsies is based on the New York newsies strike. The events I think (correct me if I’m wrong) took place around the same time as West Side Story would have taken place. I know it would have been after the events of Hamilton.
