I've lived in the 7b my whole life, I trap here. Beaver, otter and wolf are my favorites to trap. Muskrats are alot of fun too, and a good spot to start
@@homesteadfashioned wolves are a tough one, there's no shame in trapping other fur bearers for several years to learn all you can and get comfortable around traps and around live animals before trying out wolfing. If you have ponds close by, there's almost certainly muskrat and that's a really good thing to start with. And by 7b I meant the county designation on our license plates lol I live in unit 1
I have a friend who started trapping as a young boy, in Washington. I have family that trap everything they can in Oklahoma. Skinning and tanning and fashioning fur or hides for foot wear, caps, clothes etc is a craft and art. You will learn a useful skill.
After watching this I set up traps around my property just to see what would happen. I caught the neighbor kids messing with them. Because it's Oregon and not Idaho, I have a legal obligation to release them back into the wild. I'm a rule follower.
@@homesteadfashioned it's the wrong half of Oregon. Great Video except the last part that left us hanging... What did you trap? I hope it's not the feral kids you were talking about. I'm glad you have so many animals to hunt on your property. What a blessing that is.

I would LOVE to learn how to trap all of that! Especially wolves! Learning…one thing at a time 😄 (we’re in zone 6)
