I think a good rule of thumb is that abilities that block autos will usually block any ability that applies on hit effects. Like Nilah w can block Katarina’s ult, so I think shen w can as well

Like you said at the end of the first game Shen is not very hard mechanically but the macro and knowledge required and adaptability at challenger level needs to be very high. Since you are a mid main and not a Shen main though some of the harder aspects would be normal to you like when to roam and when to follow. You can hotkey the ults to different allies and bring a side bar of their portraits to make it easier to do in options as well.

hey pekin the w usage is correct but another trick wich separate good shen from bad is correct usage of q. Timed correctly you have 6 empowered q after each other. Its at the cost of your shield wich is expired and on cd but 6x6 % is 36..

I can see Shen mid work against champs that dont have good ranged waveclear/poke. I feel like playing against a Lux or something similar will probably not be fun at all. Allthough... Shen generally doesn't really make fun to play, does it now?
He's strong therefore you can win more easily and winning is kinda fun, but actually playing him is soporific.
