philipx550 TV channels aren't 4k because of the amount of hardware, resources and data needed by the commercial broadcasters would be insane. Plus who watched TV anymore anyway? Get a decent monitor and watch something in 4k and you'll realize you're talking out of your ass.
philipx550 We need 60 fps, and it isn't too smooth, it's more realistic because it's closer to the fluidity we see things with our own eyes. 30fps is NEVER better than 60fps no matter how much you try to damage control your PS4. I'd rather play with lower graphics and play at 60fps, than have to put up with the 30fps slideshow.

497664000 pixels a second... Almost 500 million pixels are loaded for one second. 3 8-bit integers for 500 million RGB values. That's just insane. This whole video has 149796864000 (~150 billion) pixels total. 8 binary values for each color value for each pixel.

The details and precision that 60p brings are awesome. Just take the pan-movement at 0:39. With 24p you would experience stuttering and the image would look fuzzy and distorted.
Everybody should change the speed of the video to x2 so you can watch it at 60 FPS.

youtube down-converts 60 frames to 30 I believe...
that's true, UA-cam does NOT allow more than 30 fps.
***** I haven't tested all of them, I have only tried CyanogenMod
***** It doesn't work like that, UA-cam doesn't drop the extra frames because if it did that it would become more choppy, it simply changes the way the extra frames are rendered. If a video is rendered at 30fps and then uploaded it will looks more choppy than a video rendered in 60fps then uploaded to UA-cam because its the way UA-cam's codec works.
TL;DR If a video is recorded in 60fps and uploaded to UA-cam, it will look slightly smoother due to UA-cam's codec.
***** You can't just say how good it is from a one to ten, it depends. Sometimes when a UA-cam video is encoded by UA-cam it makes small changes, most videos that are rendered at 1080p wont look as good on UA-cam due to how it changes when being encoded.
UA-cam's codec makes small changes so it is easier to store online and play back to us.
Marius Merten Even if you record at 60fps, and slow it down to 30fps it still looks choppy, and unnatural. What most editors do is record at 0.25 the time of normal speed, and speed it up to normal and it looks smooth. He was most likely using a camera that can record in slow motion and sped it up to normal speeds, and slowed it down for normal shots. That is what made it look smooth, its because he used slowed down footage, sped it up to normal and it makes it look smother due to motion blur etc.

Have to prop down to 1440/60 on my set up but even on my 1080p 27 inch screen it looks like a moving photo such quality.
Am I right in thinking that 4k isn't so much about the pixels but more so the use of colour that most televisions cant push out (because of the amount of pixels)

Holy shit, this (4k60) is somehow pushing my 4670k near its limits O.O
Highest setting (2160p60) uses about 60-70% cpu load on My i7-4790s + Radeon HD 7850. Needs 4MBPS internet speed for the smooth play at least(I have 50Mbps ~ about 6.25MBPS in my house) . We need more of these high res 60fps quality contents. They're nice.

A cidade está localizada num lugar muito bonito, mas a cidade projectada pelos homens, está muito longe de ser a mais bonita do mundo... há um grande desordenamento urbano, a começar pelos edifícios na frente de mar, construções em altura não me parecem as ideais, pois o impacto visual é tremendo, tornando feio o que era bonito, mas a especulação imobiliária falou mais alto... conclusão, como cidade há imensas mais bonitas do que Rio, como paisagem natural poucas a igualam.
Entendo seu ponto de vista. E concordo em partes. Mas prova do que vc falou é a Avenida Rio Branco, que no seu auge era referência em arquitetura, desenvolvimento e vanguarda em todo o Brasil. Agora, se vc for ver a mesma Av. Rio Branco, há apenas prédios corporativos, restando apenas o belíssimo Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro pra contar história. Mas, apesar disso, o Rio ainda é uma das mais lindas cidades do mundo. Diferente de cidades como Londres, Dubai, Paris, etc que possuem belezas construídas por mãos humanas, a beleza do Rio é natural, e isso não dá pra copiar, é único.

No youtube existem locais à beira mar com casas baixas e fica muito lindo, pois não provocam impacto visual negativo é só verificar e ver que se no Rio tivessem feito isso, a zona costeira, seria um sonho.

I watched 25p videos much much smoother than 60p. I mean the pannings. on the same monitor. There were pannings with lx100 and fz1000, PAL. I think that YT now supports 60p videos, this one is 30p.

Which software as used to render at 4K 60FPS? The software that i use just render at 4K 30FPS
So how does that work? I am watching this on a 768p laptop and it looks sublime.
The only thing I can think of is, that the video is such high resolution that is negates all of the quality loss when youtube compresses it and makes it look as perfect as a 768p monitor should look.

Looking forward to Chrome getting support for VP9 hardware acceleration. I have a GTX 1080 and playing this at 4K in Chrome CPU usage average is 70% to 75% on my i7 3770K. Playing it in Edge at 4K CPU usage average is 12% to 15%
having 1060, vp9 seems to be decoding the video pretty good now on chrome!

Viktor Nordfeldt I have the same setup as you.. If you are having that kind of fps issues.. Then you might want to increase your page-file size. You probably have it set to 4gb while having 8gb at your disposal.. or so is the norm. I have mine set to 8gb page-file and achieve 60 fps 95% of the time with a periodic stutter in a few scenes.
EnhancedCognition Oh well, had no clue it would be the page-file causing such problems... Maybe that will fix some other fps-issues in some games too? Would be awesome if that was the case!

EnhancedCognition Will definitely try some games with it, though I was just checking the page file-size and it was 16gb set by Windows itself, but on a hdd. So I don't know if it is the low speed of the hdd causing it, or something else?

4k is a resolution (3840 x 2160) just like 1080p (1920 x 1080). It's how many pixels there is in a picture/video

It currently means Ultra HD,. It looks amazing on a screen at Best Buy that has the pixels to handle it. I have seen some on my 2009 iMac, but its slow, clearer, but runs slow. Your connection will be a factor, as well as your screen having the pixels to display this resolution. It is currently too advanced for the current consumer,. so just like they sold us 720p tvs and still try to, they are selling you 1080p tvs now, and soon only 4k's, remember when they where selling hd tvs, they still have old tvs on the shelves, selling to the fools? This is the case now,. Never buy 720p, maybe buy 1080p, but if ob sale but 4k, since this progression is happening faster then I antisapated.
