For some reason it seems like you're the only reviewer who loves Metroidvanias as much as I do. This one looks funa nd like another good one to play with the kids
Huh, this one sounds interesting. "On the easy side" is a bonus for me - I prefer game to err too easy rather than too hard. It's always nice to get a colourful, charming metroidvania as well. A lot seem to be dark and grim, which is fine but variety is pleasant.
I like the idea of using your melee weapon to refill your ammunition for your bow, just like in Hyper Light Drifter. It incentivizes you to use both weapons.
that looks like a fun game, love the character design, also Lily is adorable and as a the owner of a big lug far too comfortable on the couch(seat stealing he be) I love it :)
This is going top of my wish list thanks Pam! My favourites this year have unironically been Tails of Iron and Micetopia so there’s definitely a theme here some where if I could just put the pieces together 😁
I could have sworn that i had all metroidvanias on steam either already in my library or on my wish list - but this one slipped past me! Thanks for the review - it's on my list now!
I played this game because of this recommendation and it's my Game of the Year for 2022. Absolutely loved it. So charming, wholesome and fun. And I still listen to the soundtrack daily. So, thanks for the recommendation! :)
The graphics look stunning in this. It's got nice paralax scrolling and foreground images. I think what adds to the positive vibe of this game is the sun shine. The graphics artist did a good job making everything reflect sunlight. Also thought the Queens dress and pearl necklace was quite a nice tribute too.
Had an eShop gift card and picked this up after watching this video. Wasn’t disappointed. Serious hollow knight vibes sometimes. But the mechanic with the islands joining up opening paths (and the bullet hell airship fights) set this apart and make it super enjoyable. Thanks for the suggestion.
Great video! I love to hear your perspective on metroidvanias, knowing how much you like the genre. This one looks like a winner, metroidvania + shmup and coated with a chill cute vibe? Yes please!
Hi Pam, great video, definitely going to give this a try after watching you stream it the other week, looks very fun! trying to clear at least a little of my backlog first though!
Heya Pam, I'm so glad that you reviewed this game. I was getting ready to put a comment question on your last MetroidVania video to ask if you'd played it :) Looks like a must play to me.
Now this one is more up my alley. I've been wanting to play a Metroidvania game that isn't a Hollow Knight/Souls inspired game but one more along the lines of Wonderboy 3: The Dragon's Trap that's not brutally difficult, has a cute story, and adorable characters and worlds to explore.
Nice review! Thank you for showing us lesser known games that are probably more fun than a lot of 'triple a' games. Your calm way of reviewing is also refreshing. It's similar to norm the gaming historian. Keep up the good work!
Ender Lilies (great game by the way) satiated my metroidvania needs for a bit, I doubt I'll play any other ones in the near future unless they are dramatically different (the flying segments/bosses here are interesting but not enough), but thanks for the comprehensive review either way. Also it's not common to see game reviewers so well dressed for a game review but it's a welcome sight, keep up the good work.
I always appreciate seeing Lilly, so A+ review. In terms of difficulty, this seems to be an easier one, would you put it as more or less difficult than SOtN?
Hey I just came from your Kid Chameleon review for the genesis, and I really wanna apologize for the hate you got on that video. Your criticisms were valid and even though I love the game and disagree with you on the soundtrack, you didn't deserve the response you got from some comments.
Pam great video. Just beat it as well and could not put it down and I enjoyed every second of it. I know I can count on you when a Metroidvania comes out, now I’m starting Haiku. Oh by the way, absolute hidden gem is 8Doors, it was on the Nintendo E shop on sale so decided to go for it and it ended up being the best Metroidvania I’ve played this year! Keep up the good work as always 🎮
Platformers have always been my favorites, ever since I played the original Metroid on NES just after Christmas ‘87. So this is definitely up my alley. Too bad, I only have a PS4. Guess I’m just going to have to pick up a Switch now.
PS4 has most of the good Metroidvanias also notable games I can think of it doesn't have are the Ori games. But I guess it doesn't have this game reviewed either.
You should check out the game "Dandara". It's a really cool and unique Metroidvania with absolutely gorgeous pixel art. The gameplay is challenging but fun; and the world and lore are simply beautiful. It's kinda slept on; which is a shame considering how good it is.
@@Cannotbetamed1 fair enough. It definitely takes getting used to; and I can understand not everyone wanting to take the time to get it down; or even caring for it if they do. I personally loved the mechanic; and how it forced me to think about every move I made.
This looks cool indeed, the art has a very distinct touch to it and the addition of shmup scenes is a good move. Have you played Haak? Another new metroidvania, very different style, but very good game imo.
I always enjoy your reviews and I make sure my Twitter followers get to see your videos too. This game looks really cute I already had added it to my wishlist on GOG.
it's ironic that more light-hearted metroidvania where you don't loose anything on your death are feeling refreshing nowadays
The best game I played so far

Richard Scarry's Metroidvania. I'm liking it so far.
This looks like a cozy game perfect for playing on Switch this winter!
I like the idea of using your melee weapon to refill your ammunition for your bow, just like in Hyper Light Drifter. It incentivizes you to use both weapons.
This looks just up my alley. Thanks for the recommendation, and hello to Lily at the end there! :)

Lily has been especially bad about the seat stealing lately.

Glad to bring it to people's attention
Lily is so precious omg. She’s like “less talking more belly rubs ok??”
When I watched Pam streaming this, the music really stood out to me. Gave me Minecraft vibes.
Yeah, the music is really great.
This looks absolutely awesome. Thanks for covering this!

11 hours to 100% is right up my alley. Seems like some overstay their welcome so some balance is nice.

Also thought the Queens dress and pearl necklace was quite a nice tribute too.
This was not a tribute to the queen. I agree about the sunlight in the game though.
@@Cannotbetamed1 really? The dress choice was one hell of a coincidence then.
I had not heard of this, looks great, and hello Lily!
I wish I could chill out like Lilly.
Thanks so much for the video- I hadn’t heard of this game and am playing it now and really enjoying it! 👍
came for the excellent eyeshadow, stayed for the excellent analysis. bravo!
That is such a nice look. The blue is really nice.
I trust your judgement to a certain point on games to play. I'm wasted at the minute so i will watch later on. RIP the queen from the UK.
This sounds like it is right up my alley for a relaxing game! Great to see some Lilly action!
She's usually just out of frame, had to include a little clip.
@@Cannotbetamed1 Was Lilly asking for a belly rub at the end of the video? My furry son has the odd knack of demanding such things when I exercise.
I just finished this game on Switch. It was so much fun. I wouldn’t change a thing about this game.
Daaaaaamn, I thought you were Betty Bowers in the thumbnail. (I'm gonna check Islets out)
Great review, I was debating on picking it up but decided to thanks to this video
Hope you enjoy it!
This looks really cute. I'd seen positive reviews already, but your emphasis on it being a relaxing experience has me fully sold now. Thanks!
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you so much Pam, this one looks pretty neat!
Metroidvanias are my favourite! Appreciate this.

I love how Eco looks. So cute!
Looks like an interesting Metroidvania for sure. Also, aw at the end.
Thanks for the review, Pam! I’ll check this out!

I can't get over how placeholder the HUD looks.
Looks great! Will give it a try. Thanks for the review, Pam!
Have fun!
Hi Pam. Thanks for the review. Looks like another game to look out for.
Hi Pam, great video, definitely going to give this a try after watching you stream it the other week, looks very fun! trying to clear at least a little of my backlog first though!

Have you tried Ori and the Will of the Wisps? That is a really good one, but does take some ideas from Hollow Knight's charm system.
@@hepwo91222 I did try that one but found it frustrating and quit. Wasn't for me.
Thanks for the recommendation, looks adorable
This looks great! Definitely putting on the pickup list, thank you :)

Lily looks at you like Daisy looks at me! ❤
This game looks like a lot of fun. And you look so fancy!
Neat! Also MVP cameo by Lily
I always appreciate seeing Lilly, so A+ review.
In terms of difficulty, this seems to be an easier one, would you put it as more or less difficult than SOtN?
Less difficult. It's a lot more forgiving when you do die.
Might have to give this game a try seeing as i've liked all the metrovania games you've recommended so far.
"...by reconnected a series of islands that have come apart and overrun with monsters." Feels like a metaphor for the state of the world in 2022.
Good review. I’m tempted to go play this game. Engagement!
Thanks!
Loving this game so far. About 3 hours in
Awee, very cute outfit.
You look beautiful.
Fun video.
Love your commentary.
So genuine and knowledgeable from actual experience.
You rock !
Lily!
Looks right up my alley.
GREAT JOB! on that resident evil video I hope it goes viral.
Extra thumbs up for cute dog on the couch at the end

No problem!
Hello, Pam! #CannotbeTamed Thank you very much for another excellent video review, and it was really great to see your dog again, too.
It's been a while, I thought Lily needed to be seen :)
"I did find the boss fights easy..." Never believe her lies 😉
Pam you gotta try haak. That and islets are the best MVs of the year
I in some way appreciate with the more advanced and complicated graphics capabilities become, some choose to keep them elegantly simple and innocent.
Me too! It's a very different style than I'm used to seeing in these games.
The last Metroidvania I **really** enjoyed was Rabi-Ribi, so I think it's time to try a new one, and this looks like the one. Great vid! ^_^
This looks great, I'll have to give it a chance!
Have fun!
Im not sure is a meroidvania-knight is a genre. but im all about it, im in.
More games need to have Mecha Rats in them!
I am enticed to play this
Pam looks very mature in a pearl necklace. It’s a very nice look for her.
great info 🤯
Who doesn't love a nice _pearl necklace._
Silly Lilly xD
Looks fun
Lilly is so adorable

It looks a bit like a Studio Ghibli film. Love the art style, but do wish the foreground had a bit more decoration. They look blocky.
Very nice looking game. I'm glad it's not a "souls-like", because anytime I see that in the description, I know that I'm passing on that title.
I am getting spoiled by Game Pass as when the latest Metroidvania is NOT On Game Pass I cross my fingers and hope that it is one day.
I'm playing Grandia on psone for the first time and it's great, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it Pam.
It looks like this was designed for me. Too bad I just got a Mac OS.
This looks cute as shit and really beautiful.
Why do I picture the Toylets game from Yakuza Kiwami 2 when I hear the word "Islet"?
This looks cool indeed, the art has a very distinct touch to it and the addition of shmup scenes is a good move.
