you dont need to solder your connection you can just wrap the wire and it will be a good enough connection also if you reverse your mold so it grows outside in get full detail

At a guess,this could be used to restore diecast? sealing the pot metal from the atmosphere might prevent bubbling from coming back on hard to find pieces. I have worked for an alleged high end resto shop in the past,but your operation makes the other place look like a glorified rust repair shop.
This actually is electroforming rather than electroplating, though both are forms of electrodeposition. This is called electro-plating. You aren't forming anything, just plating it in a copper layer. This is pretty old tech.
