Finally a video that gives directions that work and are easy to follow! I am a very experienced seamstress - but not in draping! That is a whole new area to learn! I'm moving into bridal alterations and draping is a must - something I need to get up to speed in fast! Thanks for the lesson! 😊
I watched backwards and saw the pattern being made before I saw the draping and I think I understood it better than if I had watched it in order. thank you for the videos they make so much sense
This is great Nick! Been waiting for your videos to come back out. Your instruction is easy to follow and straight to the point, without getting too deep in technical terminology. AHHH!
Oh my oh my oh my!! I LOVE this! Watching it come to life before my eyes has given me a new appreciation as a FIDM student. Now I see what I'm working towards. Thank you for turning the light bulb on and giving me the inspiration to push through the formal technicalities and picture what draping will be like, when I'm let loose! Thank you Nick! I'm so excited, I'm forwarding this video onto my mum in England.
This is perfect! I'm making myself a simple wedding dress (that isn't full length, doesn't have a trail, isn't white and will be worn at a wedding in the middle of the woods!) and have opted for a cowl neckline. This is a really great video, thank you!
OK I had to drape a cowl neck yesterday at 2AM and I stumbled upon your video and OMG I love you. Your smile really assured me and you were super helpful
this channel has honestly seen me through my fashion degree. my tutors at uni are incredible but 4 tutors for a class of approx 70 students, theres only so much contact time you get when it comes to the hands on making.
You are the only fella i know who can match a pink jacket and matching buttons, , with a pastel yellow shirt , a pastel apple green pocket square and a pair of denims and make it work ! Props to you for that Nicky . By the way, the fit of this jacket is really excellent .
Wow. Love the way you teach. So much fun. After 10 minutes I'm usually ready for bed some of the sewing videos are soooooooo boring but I have to watch them because I'm self taught and I don't know how to do some basic things. Thank you ❤️
You make it seems effortless! Excellent instructor, and that's so fast...that's why you could make an outfit so quick at Project Runway in such a short amount of time.
I’m brand new at sewing garments. I may have a clue what your doing but your sunshine personality makes me happy and want to go sew! I love your videos!
This is the first time i watch your video. Really attracted by the way you directed to us like you are telling a fairytale to make a fabulous garment. very smooth, clearly and cute 😁. Much better than my lecture in class, Hahaha. Love your channel so much 👍👍👍
Nick, thank you for your videos, I am learning how to sew and your lessons help me so much, and I love your friendly way of teaching, you are so talented, please keep posting more videos.
I AM SO EXCITED YOU ARE BACK ON UA-cam!! I am internally crying of happiness! You don't even know. I was one of many who religiously watched your other videos that streamed from "LookTV". When you disappeared, I was so mad, sad and just a damn mess. I searched everywhere for those damn videos, and only came up with a 30 second clip on the Fabric 101 video. Gah! THANK HEAVENS YOU ARE BACK AND LOOKING BETTER THAN EVER! WOOHOO I AM SOOOO EXCITED!
I've never sewn a garment in my life but I can't find a cowl dress that I need for a costume... you explain everything so clearly that I think I'm going to actually attempt to make my first dress!
Thank you nick for all of your ideas. Really it help me a lot. Im a freshmen tailor i always watching ur videos to study all the design that help.me so much..... i love you and may GOD bless u always.
I glad I found your channel. I'm trying to make a drapped dress based on a Donna Karen urban zen style. I went to design school in the 90s and since then I hadn't used my skills much. You woke my brain up, thank you so much!
Love it. I have a big, intimidating book about draping that's collecting dust on the shelf... I think this will finally give me the courage to actually try!
OMG i lovee you so muuch, you explained and practiced it really well, never seen a cool and best tutor like you before, even my lecture in college could never. you did an amazing job

Thank you. I understood the purpose of cutting it along the bias way. Very easy method of getting the pattern on a paper for future use, when the client is away. Very creative. 👍 Thank you.

I'm going to be learning how to do draping top or a dress for my university course so this is quite nice to see to get an idea how to do it beforehand.
I love this video. I just started with my dress form and you have taught me so much! You are an excellent teacher and you make me laugh each time. I have to watch them a few times before I feel confident. The sound of shears to fabric is so satisfying, but horrifying to me so it’s hard to do the cutting lol. Anyways. Could you do a video on how you take the final project off the dress form to sew it together. I’m not sure if I should pin both the front and the back fabric together now, because it is only pinned to the form separately currently.
Hi Nick, I'm Nash, from Bangladesh. And I'm so impressed to see your videos one by one and it's truly truly truly amazing! You're an amazing instructor. Love your presentation. You makes all easy and interesting! Keep it up.❤
Hi RARS Lyons: First off: THANK YOU (I'm blushing!) and yes--I have done a couple videos here of transferring my muslin onto pattern paper but not of the Cowl Drape. That's a GREAT suggestion! Thank you! --Nick

Hi Nick, Thank you so much for sharing these videos! They are very well explained and fun to watch! I am studying fashion on my own as a hobby apart from my full-time job in a different field and your videos are very helpful!
