I emailed Phil at the start of my journalism career in 2016 for advice and he got me in for a week of work experience at the YEP. He was super kind to me which I never forgot and showed what a class act he is. Good luck legend!

We were absolutely privileged to have a brilliant writer and journalist in Phil Hay covering Leeds for as long as we did. He was the oracle for all things Leeds. Going to seriously miss his writing on all things Leeds, but wish him nothing but the best in his next chapter.

Gutted Phil’s leaving. Spent the last 8 years driving from either Scotland or Plymouth every week back to Yorkshire from work, and his voice must be one of the most played in the car! Absolute top class at what he does and will be a big miss for Leeds as a whole.

Thank you for your diligent and fair coverage over the years Phil - and for understanding the club, the fan base and what Leeds means. My dad - a lifelong Leeds fan - passed away last year after years of suffering a debilitating illness which kept him housebound. I will seriously seriously miss the Phil Hay Show and Phil covering Leeds Utd in general, the voice of reason that douses the flames online and offers the perspective we as fans don't first approach.
I think it goes without saying everyone will miss your character and your coverage of our club, it was a pleasure and a privilege Sir Phil.
My petition now begins for the statue that reads "An astonishing number of people despise Leeds United or what Leeds United stand for, but this club was never made for them.”
Phil has always been the voice of reason. He's always been a calming voice when we've all been losing our heads or have become emotional wrecks. I have no idea how he can be replaced. Even if he can be. TSB needs someone like Phil to keep us all grounded. Good luck with that Dan.

Really enjoy the podcast and will miss Phil"s insight into the club. Living in Ireland and supporting the team since 1972 I have only seen Leeds play in pre-season friendlies. On a few occasions I have attempted to persuade myself to chill and give up on the team, only by 3pm on opening weekend to be totally engrossed again and the result determining my mood for the weekend. I can only imagine what it must be like living in Leeds and meeting supporters day in day out. Hopefully Phil migh grace the podcast with his presence on the odd occasion and that soon I will get the chance to obtain tickets to Elland Road and experience the atmosphere in person

I can remember LUFC before Phil but now I don’t want to imagine us without him. His journalism is on another level. Insightful, erudite and, certainly on TSB, humorous. Will miss Phil's articles on The Athletic, but will very much more miss the podcasts. As much as I enjoy the rest of the content (Propaganda being my favourite), these were a close second, a slightly less subjective view on what went on at our club. All the best for the new job Phil, and hope the TSB gang can find a way to plug the gap.
