Coming from a full time game designer now I know I would have loved this so much as a kid. Its great to have projects like this that spark kids creativity
I’d really like to see Nintendo doing an annual community thing where people send their games to them and they choose their favorites in each genre similar to the Oscars. This could not only make the lifespan of the game last practically forever even when new consoles are released, but also give aspiring developers gratification for working on their masterpieces.
I like how they just add a tid bit at the end “oh and you can use a USB mouse for this”. Dude that’s huge, having an option to do that is a great design choice and allows it to be easily accessible.

I'm trying to keep my expectations tempered only to what we've seen in the trailers. Based off what we've seen your idea sounds feasible, the only limit I can think of is maybe needing to make each level its own separate game if there's some sort of size limit.
I'm very cautiously optimistic; if this is anything like WarioWare DIY (which was awesome), there will be pretty heavy limitations. Still, this could end up being great for a first crack at your concept, or (as Wreckscalibur said) at least designing individual levels.

Programming is super complex. There is so much happening in games that we don't think about. Like when you do something as simple as speak with a character you have to have an interaction prompt, load the correct dialogue, maybe move the camera closer to see the character better or pop up a character portrait to show their face, then you have to have a way to let players progress the dialogue, maybe throw in extra options for players to select, and then responses for each selection.... and this is all just for talking to a NPC. Now imagine there are 3 NPCs and you need a way to go between them. Do you just move a cursor or a selection arrow? Does your character exist in the screen and you move them nearby to the target?
It is complex, but since this is block-formed you’ll get used to it quickly and when I’m used to it I’m making “WARIO DIES IN THE VIETNAM WAR: THE GAME”
I think it looks harder than it is. I learned to program with RPG Makers, Game Maker and right now I try to figure out the Unity Engine. It's like everything else. "Figure out how it works." I love the fact that this teaches kids how to code and how code logic works. I learnt it the hard way back then lmao. Edit: Visual coding languages and tools exist, so this game is literally a coding language. Could not be more impressed, a coder like me will love this game to bits.

Well, from all the available changes to the music and the different moods you can choose it seems like you aren't just choosing from a set selection and you pretty much are making your own music. Also, similar to Mario maker I'd bet you can make your own music using some kind of note nodon anyway
There's no built-in music creator. If you don't mind sacrificing some precious game logic space, you could always build your own tracker-like tool using Nodons.
In labo garage (which this game seems to be an upgraded version of) you could just place down a series of notes that trigger in a row and add delays. There will be some kind of "note nodon" that you can use.
I honestly wasn’t expecting something like this, this’ll be interesting for me a ton; mostly because I like to experiment with new games, do research about them, and other stuff. This is pretty cool, think I’m going to buy this, maybe pre-order it. ✌️
This is my jam. Nintendo Labo's VR Garage is great, and this is an improvement. TBH, you're more likely to make Paper Mario-styled games on this thing than anything with fancier models, but we can work with this.

Well, from all the available changes to the music and the different moods you can choose it seems like you aren't just choosing from a set selection and you pretty much are making your own music. Also, similar to Mario maker I'd bet you can make your own music using some kind of note nodon anyway

There's no built-in music creator. If you don't mind sacrificing some precious game logic space, you could always build your own tracker-like tool using Nodons.
In labo garage (which this game seems to be an upgraded version of) you could just place down a series of notes that trigger in a row and add delays. There will be some kind of "note nodon" that you can use.
