You do not have to wait till all of the oil drains out down to the very bottom of the fill hole. You can just cap it off.

What model years is this bike please ?
My 2012 requires 700ml as stated in service manual. If i were to add to flow out of filler hole that would create a serious oil overfill of what , 8 plus ounches.
Not good. I'vee also seen reference in blogs to fill to flow out. Does BMW state that in any of their publications?
8 oz overfill is very bad

@@RodRidesWrenches can I use the same oil for the final drive or are they two completely different oils?

@@mahsikb According to BMW they are two different oils. The transmission takes Hypoid-gear lubricant SAE 90 API GL 5 and this is the only area where the Hypoid is required which is more expensive than the synthetic 90 weight rear diff oil. Could you use both? I've seen reference on the R1200 forums where folks do use both but you have to buy two bottles anyway, why pay more for the hypoid?

If you're using a copper Crush washer, and you want to reuse it, you set it on a wire and you heat it up until it is red hot and you dunk it in water and it softens that copper where you can use it as a Crush Washer again

Hi Victor, not sure what you meant, it was probably on the bike when I got it. Thanks for the feedback & view! New video on Sunday!
