The Spanish never ran out of ammunition. At night (after an attack) they would scale down the walls on ropes and dig the cannon balls out of the coquina that were previously fired at them from the British and use them to fire back at them! So Basically the British (and Americans during the Patriot War) were supplying the Spanish with ammo and didn't even know it! LOL
Lol "the fort was to protect from pirates trying to steal gold from the Spanish".......gold that the Spanish stole from the NATIVES would have been more accurate....
Well stated and I don't disagree with you. But you left out the rest of that line in your comment, where I addressed the greed of the Spanish: The rest of that line you left out was "...The gold that the Spanish were moving out of the area at a pretty furious rate." I thought that was pretty accurate without calling anyone any names. I felt that people like you who understand history would get what I was saying...Thanks for checking out the video!
The Road Less Traveled I know exactly what you meant, however , the less educated will have no clue, therein lies the problem....the whitewashing and sanitization of history. History should be taught as it was , not as we "hoped" it was. Things were not always glorious....and that is ok....because we have to learn from the past to produce a better tomorrow. That's all.
So cool.
Awesome place to visit!

Only the Spanish commanders were allowed to wear those snazzy shades!
I know, right? I loved those shades!
It was actually made of Coquina
I noted that in the video :) Had a whole sequence wherein I describe it. Coquina is a very porous stone
You used to be my substitute teacher
Awesome! Where?
