I LOVE THIS...PRAISE GOD!! I sing in church and a comment was made that it was country sounding and country is boring....well, I wanted to defend my song but.....I sing for the Lord so praise God if it sounds country...I love the way this song is sung...ministered to my heart!!
When I was a little kid, going to church with my Grandma, I loved when the congregation sang "I Surrender All". I would throw my head back and at the top of my lungs sing, "I Surrender I !" :-) To my ears that was what the song said....I still sing it that way as an adult after 6 decades. I surrender I, I surrender I, all to thee my blessed Savior, I surrender I....
I don't know which is harder to go through, the deaths of my mom, stepdad, and dad, OR the separation of mother and son. To have that son say in his last words to me, "mom, you can't fix this." WOW! And then in a year and a half later, celebrating Jesus with a broken heart, KNOWING that the Father sent His only Son to die for me!! Even though my heart aches for the death of loved ones, and the severance of a relationship with my son, I purpose in my heart to celebrate Jesus. Even in this, I surrender ALL! Thank you, Bart, for your music and ministry. Your songs and words bring such healing!
Thank God for this song and band..They have blessed so many with there music PRAISE GOD..And the last guy who commented. Well I just remembered why so many are leaving the church?
i a bif fan and i agree with what he is saying jesus is the one and only peeps dont forget that all i can say now to you is to love the loved ones in your life before it is to late and you have lost them it happend to me not long ago so remember this
The Bible says that Christians are to judge THINGS, not people's SALVATION. "Judge not lest ye be judged," does NOT mean ALL TYPES of JUDGEMENT, it is referring to the person's salvation. I never once said that these people weren't saved, I merely stated that they can't possibly be surrendering ALL when their music is played on secular stations, and the gospel is no longer put out there in their music.
@SmarterThanIWas I have to work in this world and my employer plays the secular radio stations so I hear MercyMe every day mixed in with all the other trash.
@jondabill1 I am not sure MercyMe can control where their songs are played. It is up to the discretion of the radio station to choose songs. Also, if they do a secular song, and a person who doesn't know God looks up MercyMe and somehow, someway comes to Christ, isn't it worth it? I know David Crowder*Band has a song "Shine" and it talks about how He has overcome the grave, but the song was played on Good morning America once.
@jondabill1 Or maybe, possibly, they're full of joy! Carefree because they are steadfast in their faith. Secure with God's love. Nothing wrong with that, right? :)
Anyway, how would you know? If anyone is a hypocrite, it's you. You say that they can't be surrendered to Jesus because their songs are played on secular stations, but what are you doing listening to a secular station? Mr. Holier Than Thou.
This "version" doesn't capture the meaning of the song. The meaning of the song is that I, as a child of God, am willing to surrender all that I hold dear, to HIM. MY music, money, bible version, time, clothes, I surrender to YOUR will. Not just some giddy carefree song...its not.
thank GOD theres something in the trash, im sure you would spend a hundred dollars if it was in the trash, how dare you judge how GOD moves! he sent peter to look in a fishes mouth for money to pay taxes, why not just take it out of his pocket? GODS ways are not our ways
I see, people are leaving "the church" (whatever that is!) because people are sticking to their guns AGAINST worldliness? Therefore I am the bad guy and the dirty rotten sinner who refuses to let God run ANY part of their life is the GOOD guy? lol
@3r3o3b The singers who sing this song are hypocrites as far as this song goes. That is the point. You can't be on secular radio stations singing what the world sings and have surrendered all to Jesus.

Look down in the comments section. I already responded to that question about a month ago.
Right. Yeah. I didn't see that it was your comment. But then again, who the heck are you to judge?
