This week's podcast talk reminds me of the time I lived in London almost two decades ago. I lived in a building called GFS, Girls Friendly Society in Victoria in central London. Although I didn't know fully at that time, when I think of the over-all rent in London, I was really lucky to have been able to live there by just paying £60(even though it was a shared room) per month in the heart of the city. Oh, congratulations on moving to a new flat with your fiance, Sam! Sounds really fantastic for you.
Hi Tom, It’s nice to know that you were in Brighton one and a half years ago! I was there doing exact the same course that time (I guess you went to the other university^^) And yes, Brighton is expensive. My rent was around £580 a month in a house of 8 people.
There have been occasions that I have to explain the housing problem in Seoul to foreigners. And I think the problems in Seoul and the ones in London are so similar that I might be able to use some of your expressions as they are. Thank you😘

Great topic and I believe the shorter version helps to concentrate more on the contents =] reminds me of my time in London when i got to live by myself (other than a year at the uni hall of residence) for about 6 month in a studio mansionette in Central London, Took only 3 steps to walk across the whole area, basically a space for one single mattress on the upper floor, and cost 1200 pounds pcm Best part was a 24 hour McDonalds right across the street so couldnt blame too much ~
you cannot buy a house unless you are inherited or having secure high salary job. or won the lottery . Except those, you cannot buy a house in london.... too overpriced.
