Thank you for the tips, I am having a problem with the one I have getting interference , my Chanel is 5 and automatically charging to 1 trying pick other calls ( not our team)!
Most FRS and GMRS radios have a "privacy setting" though its not true privacy. It just allows you to filter out other transmitions on the channel and only hear others with the same privacy code. Everyone else can still hear your conversations on the channel.
They work well in the steel mill. I can talk to the other members of the rescue team even when I'm on the roof and they are down in the basement. That is about 200 feet with alot of metal and concrete between us. If we are both outside we can communicate even if I'm in the west side and they are on the far east side. (For those who don't know, the steel mills are the size of a small city and with loads of locations scattered outside of the main plant throughout East Chicago, Whiting, Gary, and Burns Harbor.
The "privacy" channels do not do any encryption. It just makes it so the radio doesn't play other radios not on the same "privacy" channel. For example. If you have two FRS radios running on channel 1, and one of the radios running a "privacy" code of 5, the radio without the privacy code set can still hear everything that's being said. There is NO encryption when it comes to analog radios.
Yes, "privacy" should not be called privacy, but rather "isolation" codes. Since it will filter out all the other voice output in that same frequency other than the one that has the code.
you answer is you set a code on your radios and dont tell me I can still answer I CAN still hear you the other thing rong he is diong cros over ons mint he is on F R S then croces to G M R S and this side uses repeters like the cops use on are repeter is linked I can talk to chicago he daos not know
what this means is a selling point from the company and NO one at the company even has a licensee or any radio nolage at all and don't want to learn any
One question, if please somebody can explain me the logic of this ... If i buy 2 rádios and keep one to myself and one for my mother that lives on the other side of town. These 2 pack radios only come with one charger. That one charger has 2 cables, to connect and charge both radios at the same time, but i cannot recharge both radios if we are far from each other. The whole ideia is for them to be far away from each other. Can i charge one of the radios with a regular cellphone charger ??
here is the part he is missing if mom is more than 2 miles away then thay will not work as the radio's have a 1/2 watt transmitter and any thing over 2 miles is out of range.
your radio is both F R S and G M R S one mile range do to a half a watt transmitter and IF you go to the G M R S side and find out what you need to do to get your radio to talk to a radio tower then that put's you in the 20 mile range on a repeater tower means radio to tower to radio and your 20 miles away.
ANEY family service radio will talk to ANY F R S radio on the market will work the only difference is the name on the radio the insides ALL match each other.
I honestly don't know, they use the same T400 series manual. I think the different model numbers might be for different sales configurations such as extra batteries, charging cradles, pocket clips etc. I think the base radio is the same.
thay have the same inside guts channels privacy codes by the way if I am on a code entered in my radio and you are on my channel you will only hear me you can't talk to me ok read the book.
all kiddy band radios operate at 1/2 of a watt by orders of the f. c. c. the other side G M R use repeters like are police becouse you can talk 20 miles off one repeter know you know the real story I am not him my f c c call sign is w r x n 8 2 4
the strongest frequency IS rpt repeter channels 15 through 22 on G M R S all family service radio's are the same thay have a 1/2 watt transmiter in side the radio and that rings the range of the radio to one mile in town or line of site.
A few months ago I purchased the Motorola T8XX. I'm assuming this is the T800 series?? I couldn't find any UA-cam videos on this particular series. These are blue-colored. Would you know if these two series are basically similar? My package cited a 35-mile range as well. Thanks, you get a thumbs up. 👍
These radios are very similar the biggest difference I can see is the T800X is a little thinner, and has a different IPX water resistance rating (IPX4)
all F R S radios the same the case are what thay are your answer he cant answer the 35 miles through repeters just like the cops use privet mode is I cant talk to your radio's becou you did not tell me what your code is OK.
The T800 series of radios pairs to your phone, so your party can send location daya, and short text messages over FRS. Other than that, they are basically the same as most FRS radios.
the answer is you need to work on getting the radio tuned to a G M R S tower then you need to call the F C C office and get your license then you can talk 20 miles your radio to a tower to the other radio I do this all day every day AND if you get a tower link you can talk to Chicago ILL. go for it.
it depends on how much talking you do if you go shopping charge extra battery's with a wall charger and bring along then you swap the dead ones for the good ones and keep shopping.
depend's on how much you talk as talking and monitoring run the battery down try and and get batteries 2800 mil amp size thay run longer use none recharge you go to the store a lot I charge 8 battery's in too wall chargers this covers my all day avents and call out's
These are horrible radios. I found retevis gmrs radios way better in all faucets. This coming from who has Motorola Motorbo and APX public saftey radios.
Perfect for me and my needs of keeping in touch with family when they out and about walking around the neighborhood, camping, or out at the fair. For the price this product fantastic. Saying they are horrible radios is such a generic statement...not much credibility there buddy.
All FRS radios are limited in power output compared to GMRS (which requires a license). That said, it’s a shame this reviewer didn’t bother to do basic research on the true power output of this Motorola. Many of them don’t even come close to the allowed 2watt maximum, which makes them trash IMO. This is partly because the fcc law changed in 2017, so many of the radios on the market haven’t technologically caught up yet. Or small form factor radios that want to be efficient about battery life might also limit to only 0.5watt for this reason. Translation: find a better UA-cam reviewer than @gearntools

How to void radio automatically picking other waves or interferences?
and privacy channels are only found on F R S the only codes we need is the tower PL tone to get in on a 60 watt transever 150 ft up the tower.
