In this video, we are discussing only plain and trapezoidal footing
What is plain footing?
When the bearing capacity of soil is medium to loose then we use plain footing. It is a very common footing in India and also in gulf countries for small residential projects up to G +3, G+4 project, it is also very economical and efficient, the main disadvantage of this footing that has the chance of punching or shear failure due to impact of heavy load.
What is Trapezoidal footing?
When the bearing capacity of soil is medium to high then we use this type of footing, the main advantage of this footing is that has no chances of punching or shear failure due to the impact of heavy loads, we can use this type of footing in the case of heavy loads structure like metro work, flyover, and bridges.
