I remember listening to this band back around 1999 -2000 and thinking they were amazing and then they finally re-released leitmotif and it came out on September 11th, 2001 and my professor let us out early and I got to the mall just before EVERYTHING closed and bought it. Love this band and yes the drummer is ridiculous.
it seems like everyone who likes dredg likes tool too. this song especially reminds me of tool but this band has elements of so many good bands theyre hard not to like. they remind me of a perfect circle and the killers sometimes(not that theyre that great). Mars Volta is awesome too, great to see so many people still have great taste in music
No one beats this drummer, he's insane!!! But they are all great inspiring musicians! At this moment my favorite band!!! The only minor thing that bothers me sometimes, is the stagepresence of Dino, he could express himself a bit more physically.
i love gavin but he has some pretty phunky dance moves. i would definitely say it adds to the performance because he is doing it to get in to the music and therefore what would normally be terrible/ridiculous dance moves are quite amazing and awe-inspiring.
I will never understand why this band is so underestimated by the media...at least in Europe, don't know about the Us. This is not a complaint, I don't wish them to become a mass-market band, I'm just surprised.
@daveonegative They are definitely influenced by Tool and Incubus. It's more than obvious. And they used to be a cool band long time ago. Until they sold out with "Catch Without Arms". This band used to create instrumentals with Bulgarian traditional music motives or cover strange songs like Kaiowas by the band Sepultura. That was when Dredg ruled ;) Now it's a pity to see how Gavin can't perform even his own vocal parties live anymore...
Dredg is awesome! One of my all time favorite bands. Second only to Misfits, buts that a personal thing. Dredg is real art and talent. IMO, Tool is a joke. They know it and admit it constantly. They're a great band and all, but they KNOW they're just fucking around.
@Tarrat77 i disagree. it's their weakest album if you ask me. i think el cielo will always be their materpiece, but catch without arms is up there, too. self titled will always be special in my heart
Neither. I think that his vocal skills just aren't up to par with the rest of his band-mates. I also think he feels the need to impose his presence in segments of the song where it is not needed.
This show just doesn't give his voice justice. He was still honing his skills at the time. Go watch their live show from 2009 in Konzerthaus and then judge him.
Dino is fucking amazing!!
Superb quality!.. If only there was more of this on youtube, instead of half a billion of mobile cam videos
Wow!! Incredible song!!!! Dredg has come a long way, but it's great to hear their old very unique artistic songs. Love it!
What a rarity! My favourite song and I've never seen them playing it live. Just great! Thanx for the upload!
One of the greatest bands of all time. They are so underrated.
can't wait to see what dredg comes out with next...
dredg nice
tool nice
thx.ciao

BIG BIG BIG DREDG!!!
Leitmotif was their best album... very emotional, not much lyrics needed.

seriously. that's fricken insane.
yeah, just the fact that dino can play piano and drums at the same time just blows my mind...
great post
you know where I can find this whole concert?
It is bullshit to compare Dredg and Tool cause they are fucking different band with different styles.
Started with Movement II: Crosswind Minuet. Got to be my favorite Dredg movement/brushstroke, besides Walk in the Park.
I completely agree
fuckin awesome last part of piano/drums of the movement

what are the lyrics at 6:23 they aren't listed anywhere... not even in the album booklet... i wish they included them... my favorite part of the song.
YoseMiteEmery I know it's like a lot of years late but it's because only the band knows the lyrics, idk why they didn't want anyone to know
I've been a fan since this but every album gets better. This was a hard CD to find at Amoeba.
i love gavin but he has some pretty phunky dance moves. i would definitely say it adds to the performance because he is doing it to get in to the music and therefore what would normally be terrible/ridiculous dance moves are quite amazing and awe-inspiring.
Uh, the bands you are talking about are pretty mainstream guy, and btw they are on mtv as well

Gavin is great.
but thats not lechium ... its movement II isnt it?
Brushstroke An Elephant In The Delta Waves owns.
Actually it equals Rishloo.

What an awesome band ruined by an awful vocalist.
