I'm keeping Randle. I knew as soon as he got injured folks would forget he was playing at an All NBA level. Just killing everybody. If we had Randle we'd have easily beaten the Pacers.
Exactly!!! I’m not ready to give up on Randle! I truly believe we already have enough. I definitely don’t want some has been or never was messing with what we already have. We won game 3 it was just taking from us by a bunch of ridiculous bs. If that didn’t happen hart and Brunson wouldn’t have gotten injured either. We would’ve gave the Celtics everything they wanted and then some with the half of a team we had left! Too many haters looking for reasons we exceeded their expectations but we definitely already have a legitimate contender!

Weird thing is i thing Randle is already the perfect fit for Brunson. His skillset is everything that complements a small guard. Its just a question on if Randle can come through in the big moments. He has all the physical abilities, just need to see if the mental ones can come through.

Knicks lineup with Randle is a very physically imposing team. Imagine having to guard bruisers like OG and Randle in the playoffs. Not many teams have that size. I don’t mind running it back with lineup as is.
Randle was looking awfully beastly before the injury. He's coveted to this group. The question is do you you out injury assurances in the contract or would Julius take a contract like that

Bridges is who we need. He fits in chemistry-wise, and is young enough to grow with this team.
Also need to address the front court. Randle, Robinson and Hartenstein all have question marks right now. Robinson can't stay on the court, so he needs to be paired with another starter level like Hartenstein. But Hartenstein potentially can take more $ to go elsewhere, and he also doesn't provide the elite level rim protection we need against elite teams if Robinson is injured. Randle obviously can fit the team, but also has his issues in playoffs and isnt signed long term.
I think we need to trade Randle for Jaren Jackson Jr. A rim protector, stretches the floor, scores, elite defender, huge wingspan... That way even if Robinson is out, you have a Robinson level rim protector. Brunson-Bridges-OG-Jackson-Hartenstein with McBride-DiVo-Hart-Achiuwa-Robinson bench is absolutely filthy. Could play a 'small' lineup too Brunson-DiVo-Bridges-OG-Jackson Jr which would be a devastating mismatch nightmare for most of the league.

Paul George is 34. I think Knicks need to go younger. Was hoping OG showed us a bit more and I would be excited for a resign but still a bit reluctant.

Absolutely not. Watching this team during this playoff run there are two things they needed (1) another creator, preferably in the low post, that could draw bigger defenders away from shooters and Brunson. That they already have in Randle. (2) a creator off the bench to pair with McBride at the backup that could let Brunson rest to close quarter/games. That is it!
Mikal Bridges and Lauri Markkanen are who I'd pursue if I'm the Knicks. Bridges can start at the 2 or the 3 solving bench depth by moving either DiVincenzo or Hart to the bench. Lauri can start at the 5 and help space the floor and more scoring threat for the frontcourt.
The thing to me about the Knicks making a trade this summer is not to force a trade just to make a trade. I understand if you think the Knicks need to upgrade off of Randle, but you have to remember that Randle is an All-Star player who already knows the system and is mostly bought in and shows the grit that goes well with the current Knicks culture. Just need to make sure if he is traded, the guy coming in checks all those boxes as well and not just cross our fingers that we hope they fit well. Ive been very hard on Randle in his tenure with the Knicks but I think he deserves his chance to win with this team now that we have a complete roster.

Julius Randle is better than anyone they are discussing. People forget that he was playing the best smartest ball of his career and then dislocated his shoulder. Add a good wing to back up the forward position and let’s go.
Mikal Bridges would support JBs game. He fits the culture, a Thibs guy, and puts Hart and Divo to come off the bench. That would give the Knicks a deep bench. We can come up with all types of players but who's minutes go down? Who's moving to the bench? If they can't defend Thibs ain't playing them...
Run it back with Randle...if any player to bring in, I would love Mikal Bridges.
Getting an injury riddled vet and adding him to an injury riddled team makes no sense. PG 13 couldn't win with Kawaii and Harden SMH.

I honestly think Mikal Bridges is a better option. He’s great friends with the foundation of the team, never missed a game (perfect Tibs player), cheaper, and much younger than PG. Not to mention Bridges has NBA finals experience.

Brunson was the best player in the play offs period. All they need is to be healthy. Also with their draft capital, they can get some depth on their bench.
The New York Knicks number one priority right now is for all injured players to rest recover and get some physical therapy before training camp starts but Paul George would be a good addition because he wouldn’t be the number one option he’d be the third or fourth

Paul George is getting up there in age.
The Knicks have 6 or 7 1st Round Draft picks in the next two years.They should look at getting Mikal Bridges he would fit in great. Demar DeRozan could fit in too and can close games too which could help. Markannen could be a good pick up. On a vet minimum, championship pedigree Javelle Macgee would be good signing. He always stays healthy and could help out when a big gets hurt and great locker room player.
The Knicks need to ignore the media and avoid making the knee-jerk reaction and mistake by signing an aging, injury-riddled, overpaid star. We have more than enough scoring, with NY averaged 111 points per game vs. the Pacers.
The issue was on the other side of the ball and the series changed once OG and Hart got hurt. We should prioritize continuity and give the squad another year to gel with Randle incorporated in the offense. Personally, I feel like Randle is going to come back witha vengence and have an all-star calibre season in 24-25.

If the NYK could get Paul George with mid-level exception and no assets and picks, then maybe. But the dude is 34 and giving up anything significant for a win now scenario, instead of a long run of many titles, is not the prudent thing to do.

Randle has been horrible in playoffs I would trade him, OG also is always hurt I wouldn't trade for PG13 especially to help defensively since Brunson is so small and can't get stops. They also need to figure out Center Robinson is always hurt and over paid, I'd move off Randall and Robinson and add PG.

Paul George should come home to Indiana. The butterfly effect of him requesting a trade put them in position to get the pieces they have. Plus they are the better team than the Knicks. He should prefer to play for Pacers.

PG can hoop no doubt, but he is older/injury prone a bit. Love PG but not sure he would be a auto fit with the NYKs. I hopped on the Mikal train, but not sure the Nets would want to deal him to a hometown rival.....and if they do, he is no doubt going to be crazy expensive. High value is what they will want back for him and I just don't want the NYKs to give up a ton which ends up affecting the chemistry and momentum.
PG ain't the answer for 45mm+, dude couldn't finish at the rim against Dallas interior (declining athleticism), he's no longer interested in playing hard enough to win the chip, and career ~4 apg (ball-heavy). Ego bigger than his game at this point.
