The white Honda only needs a fuel pump to run. Both of my f23 accords did that. Fixed one for $80. About to fix the second one. Always check the pump when it sputters and puffs smoke out the air filter like that.
I had a 1999 Toyota Corolla up until new years eve this year. I had it for around 2 years. When I bought it had around 221,000 miles, and when I sold it had around 260,000 miles. A lot of people seem to think that the 8th generation corolla is the worst one, but aside from a broken belt, I never had an issue with that car. I changed the oil every 5,000 miles, and in that time it didn't burn a drop. The underside of the car was clean and it didn't leak a drop of anything. When I got it, the transmission fluid was BLACK, but I changed it and it shifted fine and drove great. The A/C was also better in that car than a brand new car. Sadly a tree branch fell on it and caved the roof in, so I sold it. The guy I sold it to bent the roof back out and put a window in it and as far as I know, it is still on the road.
I have to wonder how in the heck you find semi-usable cars of this class this cheap. Everything around me is either pristine or barely a frame, nothing in between. Anyway, this really does evoke that old fashioned Top Gear spirit, before it went down to hypercar pot. Excellent job!
Proud owner of a $750 '90 Honda Accord I bought a year ago from a neighbor down the street, here to vouch for the all around beat it up til you wrap it around a tree class reliability of these cars when you treat them well :)
Scrap yard buy. 2001 chevy truck 4.8 . 400 bucks. She is a piece of garbage. But It never stops making me money. Ive run it at 6800 rms 3 times till the tires blew off. And years of red line abuse. Now its my daily driver 5 years later. She does have an odd misfire though.. haha

HOWEVER, I can't imagine it was easy, or even possible, to find any car or truck for under $2,000 that was licensed. If this had been filmed 4 YEARS ago, maybe, nowadays?
Nice! Camry tip when pulling the head off 5sfe use one of the trimming cover 10mm bolt and use the in the exhaust cam to keep the cam from unwinding...
Havent even watched it yet but im going with the cb7 because its my favorite chassis. Ive had 4 of them. All i drive is accords. I have a 94,a 98 and a 2003 right now. They are bulletproof when you take care of them and really easy to work on. Usually a dizzy ,main relay, or parasitic drain somewhere when they don't run.
I knew that Honda was going to kick ass. The 2000 Accords were phenomenal cars but 48 is in Prius territory and that was impressive. Greetings from Covington Ga, Hope to see another challenge soon.

We actually did a compression test after this was all done and it was down on a cylinder pretty bad.
