1987 Toyota Pickup SR5 4x4 - Update!

A quick update on my '87 Toyota Pickup 4x4 SR5, including walk-around and start-up! This truck has the 22RE 2.4L engine. The frame, chassis, and body have been restored as you can probably tell. And yes, the hood scoop is functional. Thanks for watching! =)

Nice… I have an ‘87 4x4 my dad gifted me a few weeks ago. Little rust as it spent its 1st half of its life in Florida. 30” tires. Something my dad recently told me that with this cold weather he’d give it a little gas as he turned it off, as that would leave a few drops extra in the carb and with just 1 or 2 slow pumps it starts easy even after letting it sit for a several days in single digit temps.
Also I had a ‘77 280z. Bought it off the original owner 30 years ago. Ended up only having it for a few years, going to college and the thing wouldn’t run right, and the mechanic I had at the time did me no favors and I wasn’t that mechanically inclined to know what to do. The fuel injection wouldn’t work. Sold it on the cheap as I didn’t have time for it and I was moving out of state. To my chagrin the guy who bought it ended up fixing it by putting a carburetor on it. Which I didn’t know that was a possibility on a fuel injection car… and kicking myself later on that no one suggested that to me. Regardless. Spilt milk. But just thought I’d add that for the fun of it.
Also it would be great to see the engine of your 87 with mine there is a port off the air filter canister…. It’s like an inch long, looks like a hose should go on it. It’s hard to see on any videos in my research where a vacuum hose would go to… I thought in one video someone just had it taped off but unsure. So it you had that port, I’d be interested to see what might have happened to it. I found an 88 Toyota repair Manuel pdf file and that helped me greatly as a few hoses were on wrong… but perhaps the ‘88 doesn’t have that port as it wasn’t shown in any of the diagrams. So regardless. Nice truck. Mine looks more like a farm truck with a cap on it as well. But it’s a keeper. Had the engine rebuilt 20,000 miles ago because of the water pump timing chain rub… but runs well in my limited time having it. God bless

Some don't know about " Ivan the Ironman Stewart " he put Toyota trucks on the map in the 80's and 90's oh we can't forget about his buddy Steve Millen who is related to Rhys Millen... They all put Toyota on the map in America.. Especially the pikes peak challenge..
