might be a bit late but they are so good, obviously a bit different considering the price tag but they are phenomenal. noise quality, feeling and they are hard to dirty if you have good hygiene

The difference is that the built-in audio DAC and amplifier are better in the USB C version. This DAC/amplifier is built into the connector. I have all the versions and the order would be USB C > Jack + USB C adapter (official, it is the one with the DAC/amplifier) > lightning
Could you test if this earpod functions as a peripheral on a USB-C KVM switch between two Macs, or alternatively, between a Mac and an iPhone/Android device?

Of course they do, why wouldn't it work? I use airpods on my samsung, I also have earpods for the phone. What matters is the technology, bluethooth, usb c etc... not the brand.

usb c is more universal and works on most devices it is the best option.
I am an Apple Music user on Android for lossless audio. Can you confirm if it supports Lossless on Andriod?
yes but hi-res audio is limited to 24/48k on these EarPods while Apple Music supports up to 24/192K.

You would have to buy the lighting version of these headphones, unless Apple comes out with a lighting to usb c converter

that depends on what device you're using. The microphone on USB-C Apple EarPods doesn't sound very good on Android.

@tuna5395 the stand alone Apple usbc dongle does not work properly with Samsung handsets, it limits the volume.
