Aaah this is one of my favorites and absolutely loved your insights :) ❤️ The Indian instruments used here are - Bansi, Santoor, Sarangi and Tabla ! Keep them coming guys !
The Thai looking instrument is the Santoor. The long flute is used in hindustani music(music indigenous to Northern India and pakistan) the shorter flute is used in carnatic music(music indigenous to southern india). Violin and piano are extensively used in Indian classical music as well Esp the violin. The Indian violin like string instrument is called the sarangi, sarangi is used in hindustani music while Western violin is used in carnatic music, because carnatic music is closer to the western classical music than hindustani specifically when it comes to string instruments. Sarangi is said to be the only instrument in the world to come close to mimicking human vocalisation.
Just to add something trivial so that you can search for more info if you want. The North Indian bamboo flute is called a Bansuri (6 fingering holes) and the South Indian bamboo flute is called the Venu (8 fingering holes). They are designed to pertain to certain preferred standards in the two schools of music. The bansuri produces a huskier and smoother sound. The Venu produces a heavier sound in line with the Carnatic school.
Kallol Mukherjee prior to 12 th century there was single classical form of temple music existed in India then Islamic invaders invaded destroyed temples and then musicians had to change the music to perform in courts. Though both form have same basics that comes from Dhrupad and natyam shsstram
It's not called Venu across entire south india. Karnatak music is the mother of Hindustani. Bansuri is an evolved form of the ancient flute. Check how Hindustani music developed.
The hammer instruments are called Santoor. And the reason you've seen it in Thailand is because since ancient ages India and countries in Indo-China, South East Asia have been culturally connected. Hinduism was one of the reasons. Buddhism too.
Achara Thailand and India has many connections since long ago including spiritual beliefs like Rama or music and many things... It's only in modern times that only tourism is only association sad but true...
both Tamil and Malayalam people have gone there....people from other part of India have gone there too.....I even heard of having Bengali kings in Sri Lanka and Myanmar
The instruments used are Flute (Basuri), Drum ( Tabla), Thailand Instrument (Santoor), Indian Violin, Vertical String Instrument Like Violin (Sarangi), Sitar and Percussions.
Indian hoke santoor nahi pta? Atleast name se kuvh idea aa jana chaiye tha indian ho sakta hai Thailand wala (Khim) derived from China (yangqin) or china yangquin derived from persian (santur) ese he sequence Or India, persia ke trading phele time se the isleye hamre ider bhi (santoor) form hua uske strings todhr sayda hai or sound bhi persian santur se alag todha
I still remember as a kid I wanted to wear a round framed spectacles and scar my forehead so that ...I can I act like Harry potter inside my room holdin up a stick... as my wand....DUHH... Do Titanic and Interstellar too please
I love HP and really enjoy everyone's reactions on this channel, and as soon as I saw the title of this video I clicked on it, because Indian Jam is so amazing. :P And OMG the feels this music gives me are just so damn powerful, I'd forgotten that and now I'm in tears, great reaction btw. :')
@Achara : The Trapezoidal instrument your were referring to is called Santoor - Shata-tantri Veena (Hundred String Veena) which has a Persian origin from Santur, also found around the world with names hammered Dulcimer (UK/US), Yangqin (China), Khim (Cambodia/Thailand) to name a few.
Hey @Achara and @Ricardo, the instrument you were comparing it to the Thailand instruments is an Indian Classical Instrument, called 'Santoor'. You should hear more of this instrument, it's melodious. Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma plays it amazingly well. You can find him on youtube. Also, the other Indian Classical Instruments they used were: 1) TABLA - (For the percussion) 2) SARANGI - (The Strings Instrument, held vertical, similar to violin) Love your reactions! Thank you
That Instrument with strings and Hammer is called Santoor. If you liked it, would recommend Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and his son Rahul Sharma. Plenty of clips available on UA-cam of their performance. A NOT TO MISS if you've taste for Classical Indian Music :)
Search thai string instrument see if there is santoor anywhere , santoor is indian instrument derived from persian santur And this Persian santur is predecessor of china yangqin and thai khim
There's two types of flutes used in india. The Hindustani (North Indian) Classical Music uses the Bansuri (which is used here, i think) and the Carnatic(South India) Classical Music uses the Veenu.
I miss the harry Potter movie series. When I used to watch those movies it felt like a whole different world altogether and so dreamy.I wish there was a real hogwarts and all those characters were real too! :(
entire Asia was once united by culture, history,Hinduism and later on Buddhism...India was the biggest economy on planet for over 2000 yrs and the oldest civilisation for over 10,000 yrs.Researchers in NASA have been working on Sanskrit texts since the inception of NASA..Adolf hitler formed the Ministry of Ancient Memories which is why came to know of Hindu symbol Swastik,The Vedas ,Ramayana and Mahabharata were translatred abd carried to Germany...no wonder the Germans invented atomic weapons known as Brahmastra in ancient India...these were used by Krishna in Mahabharata and the Greeks participated in this war too. These reports are available on The history channel of USA and also other channels. You can watch videos on Sanskrit,Use of Nuclear weapons,Music, etc in ancient India(which was by the way called Bharata or Aryavrata).Sa re ga ma pa are the musical notes of Indian classical music which reached the Arab world as do re mi fah so and later on to the rest of the world,Pythagoras spent his childhood in India ..he is mentioned in the texts..Greeks whose civilisation came thousands of yrs later than ours kept strong associations with the country.China and Tibet today have millions of records in Sanskrit about ancient India. You go to Japan...80 percent of the gods worshipped are Indian and chants heard are sanskrit shlokas.Russian uses most of the words in sanskrit..if u hear all the numerals and alphabets ..they are the same..like ekam,Jyeshtha,Aagun,One of our vedas The Rig veda was written on banks of Volga in russia. As for thailand and rest of south east asia..its full of Hindu temples and sanskrit scriptures.Stretching from Afghanistan right upto South east asia...our cultural history is One...people with great knowledge and no bias would know that and there are many u can ask about the great Asian history .We all are 'exotic and mystical' for a reason...We all share extremely rich history
Please react to the mission Impossible Indian Classical version from Tushar Lal.. It would just blow your mind Achara.. love the cinematography in it..

Why on earth would you call it pakistani when there was no Pakistan during the music evolution era?
It's not called Venu across entire south india. Karnatak music is the mother of Hindustani.
Bansuri is an evolved form of the ancient flute.
Check how Hindustani music developed.
