Stamford Hill, London - Geez Photowalk #31

Welcome to another Geez photowalk where I share some street photography, one shot at a time!
I went to Stamford Hill in Hackney which is home to the largest Hasidic Jewish community in Europe.
It is definitely a change of scene and it almost feels like we either travel in another country or even through time.
Since this is a very private community, my spider senses were heightened to make sure that I was not invading and remain respectful as I usually do.
This made for a nice street photography session and does highlights another great side of London's diversity.

I think your video came up in my UA-cam feed as I live in Stamford Hill!
I enjoyed watching the film and your pictures are great - I love black and white photos, they have a particular quality to them which you don't get with colour.
The orthodox Jewish community don't interact with others very much, they are quite self contained in their lifestyle, however there are two young couples in the block of flats where I live and they do say hallo etc.
You should come to Stamford Hill when they celebrate the Purim festival in the Spring, it's brilliant - all the children walking around in fancy dress and the young men riding round on vehicles with Klezmer music playing!
